I had another problem with my site, which caused me to deactivate plugs to see if there was a conflict.

Deactivating the facebook box plugin fixed that problem and the yard sale problem.

FWIW: If I create a listing, get the confirmation e-mail and follow the edit link, the marker appears in the right place on the map. But I’m not seeing any markers on the general community map.

I’ve gotten no response to this.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. That didn’t help.

I tried installing the API and now the map doesn’t display at all.

The obvious question, I suppose, still needs to be stated: How is this fixed?

If another user makes the entry, then I’m not going to get that e-mail.

Also, the entry I want to delete right now is the one I made right after disabling the javascript to check for e-mail address (we have a community garage sale this weekend and one person is entering all 80 garage sales for us, and the unique e-mail requirement prevented her from doing that).

There’s also still the issue of I can’t even get to my site right now because of the mystery redirect.

None of that seems to offer much help.

I need to preserve the link to the original article and not have the URL rewritten into the WP URL.

A follow up … I’ve discovered WP isn’t just changing www. to mobile., it’s rewriting the entire URL. I need to preserve the original URL as received from the original RSS feed.

Interestingly, this issue was resolved by installing and activating WP Super Cache.

yeah, and I tried that and that wasn’t the problem.

.htaccess is in its proper place as near as I can tell.
