In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Multiple postsHi Jenny,
A couple of things for you to look at:
– Does the feed URL show the items multiple times? (unlikely)
– Do you have the same sp# short-code on your wordpress page/post multiple times? If you want more than 1 sp# code on a page/post, you should use the sp# short-code filters or different feed names for each short-code placement.
– Are you using a wordpress cache plugin? If so, you may need to delete the cache content.Best regards,

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Not new feedHi Artika,
a new version of Syndicate Press was just released today which includes support for SSL encrypted feeds and feed URL redirection. Facebook was doing both redirection and encryption of their feeds via SSL.Please try the new 1.0.32 version of Syndicate Press to access the feeds. Depending on the privacy settings of the facebook wall that you are syndicating, you may need to get permission and/or a key from the facebook user or ask them to enable rss/atom feed publication.

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Feed not available at this time errorHi jonburr,
a new version of Syndicate Press was just released today which includes support for SSL encrypted feeds and feed URL redirection. It is possible that the feed pubisher is doing an http 301 or 302 redirect. The new version of Syndicate Press (1.0.32) now support http redirects.Best regards,

In order to use the new SSL and redirect feature, you will need to change the Feed download mode on the ‘Cache’ tab to use the Curl based download.

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Facebook feed no longer workingHi lesurel,
you are correct, feeds from facebook are not working at this time. Facebook changed it’s feed url api to redirect to https from the original url. I have not yet found a way to force the facebook feed to not redirect.Syndicate Press does not support https or url redirection at this time although both of those features are on our future development list.

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Page loads slowHi David, can you post the feed url’s so I can try them out also? This issue of per feed timing would make for a good feature. I will put it on the feature list to do shortly. I think a feature like this would help lots of folks. I will be unable to look at the feeds for a few days, but I will check them out and report my results. Your report of slow feed loading is the first to be posted, so I am interested in figuring out the root cause.

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Delete Author's NameAlso, you can remove the
<hr>
that is between the feeds via the ‘Custom Formatting’ tab. The<br>

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Delete Author's NameHi zonemom,
In the current version, there is not a setting that hides the author.
But there is a solution if you use the Custom Formatting feature…You can adjust the Custom Formatting for the author element to hide it via a css display directive. This is found on the ‘Custom Formatting’ tab in the SP Admin Panel.
Set the author element to be wrapped as follows:
<span style="display: none;">author</span>
After you update the settings, be sure to clear the output cache to ensure that the output is re-rendered.
I just tested this out on the SP test page and it hides the author.

it could be that one of the feeds is loading really slowly. Do you have caching enabled?Best regards,

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Feed not available at this time errorHi jobburr,
I just delivered the ability to change the download client user agent string in the latest v1.0.31 version. Perhaps this might help in case a feed publisher is blocking certain user agents???

In reply to: [Syndicate Press] Cache permission problem (on another hosting)Resolving this topic as it appears the latest info on using FTP to change the cache dir permissions resolved the issue, since the user did not respond back with further problems.
