had issues with the slug field so we removed it from our system

We will work through it – however, to be clear, the ‘Slug Field’ does show, it just does not retain the information in it – the permalink does retain the information.

Re point 2 – this is not an issue with how the slug/permilink is displayed, just with the actual field called SLUG within the Yoast add on.

Hi this was on the latest version of WP – everything was also updated in terms of plugins, some of these also had issues with the update.

The issue happens with old posts and when making a new one – the ‘Slug’ field does not work.

hi thanks for this post – NextGen seems to be playing hell with a lot of plugins since the last update. I too used it, not as much now, so I have turned it off.

As a result of turning it off, Auto Tags works perfectly with latest WP install and also the other issues I had with plugins work fine ??
