In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Update brokenMine worked both ways. Downloading then uploading; and, from the Updates page. It took a couple of times using the Updates page.
I’ve found this happens with a variety of plugins. Wait a few minutes. Try a couple of time. If it doesn’t work, download it first; back up the site; delete the plugin; upload the plugin.
Usually works..

In reply to: [WordPress CRM Plugin - WP-CRM System] Too much Ala CarteScott,
I appreciate your extensive response. I have looked at the other WordPress CRM’s and anxiously await one that provides the type of functionality we’ve had with premise based systems.
Yes, your lifetime plan (once you find it) is a good value compared to the cost factor on others. I’ll give you that. It’s basically less than the per seat cost on any of the decent systems out there. But, I loaded up your plugin and didn’t get that far. That should tell you something. I’m actually one of those who knows these systems, and needs a WordPress interface for one. We built a web lead interface for Goldmine a few years ago for WordPress and Gravity Forms.
Maybe the issue wasn’t “nickle and diming”, although that was the feel of it. It’s the whole apparent Ala Carte system. That is what caught my eye. My impression, right or wrong, was that YOUR extensions were needed to add features, like custom fields, that would act WITHIN your plug-in. There is a lot of code to keep all the fields working together in any CRM. My suspicion, or first impression, was that I would be locked in to extension after extension, starting with custom fields. I would be scared to put in the time and resources needed to get into the code to develop my own version. I would wonder if any of the other custom field plugins I use would work within yours, or if their contents could be used to trigger automated actions. We rejected Ferrara’s Nimble over exactly this issue. I wanted that one to work. Coming from broad and deep use of Goldmine, and as a contracted marketing company, I’m looking for something that has decent set of dual sided (customer facing – and – client facing) abilities. I need custom fields, custom drop down and selection lists to populate those fields, interface with Gravity (which I have a Developer’s license for), and behind the scenes ability to fill in hidden fields. I need them on both sides of our operations.
All I am saying is that yours looked good enough to install it, and then it looked piecework. I do not know if I’m correct. I do know that is how appeared. And, any CRM without custom fields front and center, would be difficult to take to market.
Again, I appreciate your time and attention. Thank you for replying. Let me know if you want to take this to a private conversation.

In reply to: [Advanced Page Manager] Stopped working, cannot create pagesNo Marios. You misread the latest messages.
The only time there is a problem adding new pages is when APM is activated. There is no button to Add New Page in the Add Page menu.
So for me, the words “normal” or “normally” mean when APM is deactivated and WordPress is in its original state.
So, when I have APM active, and need to add a new page, APM blocks the Add Page button from appearing. It’s GONE. Then I deactivate APM, and can use the WordPress Page controls to add the page. Once it’s added, I can reactivate APM to get the functions of APM applied to the new page (and previously added pages).
I hope this clarifies things. And, once again, overall you have the best page management and tree heirarchy plugin. It’s a little kludgy to use this workaround.

In reply to: [Advanced Page Manager] Stopped working, cannot create pagesMarios: Though I appreciate your comment, Advanced Page Manager is the one that I have to disable to get standard WordPress Add Page function to work. You’re first out in the debug process to get the function back. I run your plugin on a few sites, as it’s really nice for what it does. The sites have a fairly standard set of plugins, with a few variable ones. APM has the same issues on all the sites when active. I’ll send you a list of the plugins if you want to test with them.

In reply to: [Advanced Page Manager] Stopped working, cannot create pagesI had the same problem. To create a page, deactivate Advanced Page Manager, and you can use the normal methods to create the new page. Then reactive APM.
It’s a little kludgy to do it that way. But until they fix it, that’s what you have to do. Since I’m adding pages to sites all the time, I’m just deactivating it, and waiting for a fix before using it again. But, it sure screws up the great organization this plugin allows.

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Not able to updateMine worked again using the dashboard without deleting the previous version. Thanks…
You might try the forums at siteorigin.com. It sounds like a CSS issue to me. They’re pretty good at supporting those, specially if you’re a premium user of one of their themes.

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Not able to updateGreg: I’m in the same boat. It doesn’t find the file to update through the dashboard.
Just wondering: Is there any problem if I delete the old version then upload a copy of the new one off this site? Will all the old Pagebuilder layouts still work.

In reply to: [WordPress CRM Plugin - WP-CRM System] Custom fields?Scott,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question so quickly.
As a premised based CRM user for almost 2 decades, with experience in very early computer based sales and service automation, I strongly suggest you add a component that allows for both custom fields and custom screens or views of the data in the system.
I think you’ll find that almost every company that needs a CRM has a varied view of contact and customer information, as well methods of monitoring and maintaining current lead status. These are usually done through some version of field and view customization.
Being from the old Clipper, and dBase worlds, those fields should be capable of being populated, by the user, by web lead, by automation, with any of multiple, pre=programmed content data, to simplfy lead management.
That said… I’m glad you’ve entered this fray with this plugin. I hope it does well for you and your users.

@steve
Best to you guys. Keep it up. I got my eyes on you.
HG/mwsI’m more of an aggregator than developer. But, I got interested in you guys due to the lack of a real WP CRM system with any body. You guys have looked like you have the building tool for a few years. I’m watching for someone to use it to get a decent CRM on the market; something in the Goldmine, Redhorse vein, not just a card file.
The reason I asked about video training, is that is the pivot point for me to actually use Piklist. When I develop anything, I hate to say it, but I need someone to walk me through the whole deal. I’m not alone. I’ve got an MA in Career and Technical Education. Part of that tells me that many folks who would use your tool, need step by step instruction and more than demo files to lead them on.
We’ve done a couple of training development web sites using Learndash from Justin Ferriman. It’s a pretty ideal way, with or without video, to walk people through the steps.
See, the problem with laying out the plugin and demos, is that the people who could take it from there are generally at the development level, working inside the code and css regularly. Yet piklist is really designed for the aggregator types like me, who see all the settings, and go… well, next.
The demo you need, to get me, and I assume others like me, to join in using it, is one that takes a site or business situation, and builds the web application for it, using piklist, and going through the decision tree about why to choose one thing or the other as a way of solving the specific issues within the application. Right now, I see piklist, and I’m just guessing where to start, why use this or that, and so I go on to other solutions before getting close.
But, I know you guys are on the right track. That’s why I keep my eyes open for what you are up to and appreciate your work.

Hi Steve. Are you guys producing any user training videos? BTW: Looking at 9.9 right now.

Dave,
Thanks.
I disabled all plugins. Activated the jquery updater. Reset the advance timings in the slider. And it started working. Reactivated the plugins, and all is good to go. I think the conflict was with the Yoast SEO “Clean up” plugin.
Thanks for your help.
