(Like, if you look at Clements’ workaround, would it be possible to call for the video function you implemented in Hoffman in the same place in the functions.php? I tried it with the flexslider for the gallery post format, but it crashed my whole site ?? )

    Hi Anders,

thank you so much for responding to this! Although I’m not sure whether we are talking about the same thing.

It’s not about full text vs. summary – Hoffman’s RSS feed does show everything that is entered into the main content field in the WordPress admin area. However, if I choose the video or gallery post format where your template automatically generates a gallery from the pictures I uploaded to a post (without using WordPress shortcodes or so) or inserts the video through the respective meta field, these specific contents are not included in the RSS, neither in the automatic subscription e-mail if you use the respective WordPress/Jetpack plugin. Same applies to the featured image. I tried it with both your demo site and mine, and several other blogs using the theme.

I’m not sure if I can make that clear, so maybe read this blogpost to understand what I mean. The same blogger suggested a workaround a while ago, but this certainly cannot be an permanent solution. So I guess that he is right and we indeed have to say goodbye to post formats. But that would really be a pity, given your beautiful theme.

So if you have any idea how to fix this, that would be amazing.

    Hi Perry,
sorry for my late answer. May I ask which RSS reader you use? I use feedly and also tested on bloglovin and several others, neither worked for me. I’m trying some workarounds now as these two are the ones most used by my readers…

    Hi guys,

I think you’re actually looking for the same thing that I was asking for in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wide-images-galleries-within-a-post.

Perry, you’re right: you only get the full-width video with the video post format, ergo, if you put your video’s URL into the meta box on the post admin page. It doesn’t seem to work for any shortcodes or images within the post.

I think the solution might be to add a new CSS class like .full-width, but I haven’t found out how to “break” the .section-inner yet without doing any harm to the theme’s responsiveness ??

    Hi Oktavia,

did you insert the gallery into your post? You don’t have to do that, actually you only have to upload the photos to the respective article. Inserting a gallery will give you duplicate content.

However, I haven’t found out yet how to make the gallery (or quote or video, respectively) show up in the RSS feed ?? Does anybody have an idea?

    Hi!

This is what it says in the theme’s readme.txt – works fine with me?

    # Use the gallery post format
    ————–

    1. Go to Admin > Posts > Add New.
    2. Select the “Gallery” post format in the Post Attributes box.
    3. Click “Add Media” and upload the images you wish to display in the gallery.
    4. Close the Media window and publish/update the post.
    5. The images you uploaded should now be displayed in the post gallery.

    Dear Jeremy,

I’m very sorry for responding this late, but thank you SO much! As you said, the code needed very little customizing, then everything worked out fine. You truly are a Happiness Engineer ??

I’ll post a link here as soon as the theme goes online!
