  • Here is how to put a video blog into carousel.

    1. Make sure that the blog includes a full video embedded codes, not just a video URL. That is, the blog should show a video box in it.

    2. Edit the blog and set the following:

    – Visibility -> Public, [x] Stick this post to the front page.
    – Change format from ‘standard’ to ‘video’.
    – Click ‘Update’.

    3. The video in the blog now should be in the carousel on the front page.

    4. When more than one video blogs are sticked into the front page, hence, into the carousel, the paging arrows “<” and “>” will automatically show up on the top right of the carousel.

    That’s it!

    ONE PROBLEM STILL:

When there are text in the video blog, the text will show up on the right of the video in the carousel. This is good. I really like it.

The problem is that the text also remain showing around the video image in the carousel also. This looks fine in the blog, but ugly and messy in the carousel. I don’t know how to solve this. What I do right now is not putting any text at all in those video blogs.

Anyone knows how to solve this problem, please post the solution here. Thanks.

Hi, I am a new WordPress user and I spent 2 days but could not to get the video carousel to work. But suddenly it came on by itself! Here is how to make it work:

    1. Create blog post and insert a youtube or vimeo video or any video in it. The whole video frame, not just the URL. The easiest way to do pick a video from the web and stick it into your blog is to use the “Press This” tool (see Tools->Avaiable tools).

    2. Change the default post format from “Standad” to “Video”.

    3. Publish the post.

    3. Go back and edit the post’s “Visibility”, set it to “public” and “stick it on the front page.” This will put the video into the carousel.

    4. When you stick more than one video into the front page, then the “>” and “<” arrows will show up on the right of the carousel automatically.

    That’s it!

PS. I found one problem that I still can not solve:

Any text in those video blogs, whether the text is above, on the side, or below the video, will appear on the right side of the video in the carousel. That is what I like.

But the same text also keeps appearing around the video as well. This looks very ugly and messy. I want to suppress this text display. But I could not find way to do it. So, I have to delete all text in those video blogs. That is, each of those blog has only a video frame and nothing else.

Anyone knows how to solve this problem, please post the answer here.

    Thanks.
