Your process looks fine. The only change I would make though, is don’t do a redirect. Take WordPress and when you’re ready, move it to the root of clientsite.com.

Hey John,

If you’re running stock WordPress 3.8, and default theme, this is probably going to be something on your hosting provider’s end. It could be that the server is overloaded, or possibly your account is being throttled with something like CloudLinux.

Are you on a cPanel based platform? If you login to your hosting control panel, are there any metrics on if your site is hitting limits or bottlenecks?

I definitely recommend you open a ticket with your provider.

This would probably be either an issue with your .htaccess file, or with Mod Rewrite.

With this being a free web hosting provider, it may simply be that they don’t offer those features.

I browsed your site, and I’m waiting for your about me page to error out, but that’s my guess right now.

Sounds like either a firewall blocking the outbound call, or something has been misconfigured. Was it working prior to activating Akismet, and Jetpack?
