You can always edit you post template to get rid of my links. This is not spam, this is a example to show you what you can do with the template system. Video tutorial show you how.

CJ-Datafeed generate extra money for affiliates. If you don’t, I do and other users too. CJ-Datafeed is running on hundred of happy affiliates websites.

Only link remaining you can’t get rid of is on your page footer. It’s a little price for using my plugin. With a donation, I send back ( on request ) a modified version of CJ-Datafeed without footer.

Don’t forget you can edit post template to remove https://cj-datafeed.com link in each posts and customize it.

You’re right eddyj … I’m a technical guy, forget that not everyone is.

1. What format should the datafeed be downloaded from cj in? tab, pipe, xml, quoted csv, standard csv?

Use PIPE “|”. I write a note about it in the upload page

2. Next, once downloaded it, you say to remove the first row, but when we go to open it in excel there are even more options to select

first page says – open as delemited or fixed width?
next page – what format tab, semicolon, comma, space, other?
Next page – column data format – general, text, date, dont import column

Excel, Word or WordPad will corrupt your file. Remember is a .txt file. I recommend UltraEdit, Notepad or any TEXT editor.

First row is a description of each columns, we don’t need that. Just delete the first row. This way, CJ-Datafeed plugin process only valid affiliate data. I will work on something to automate this… ( check row if valid data, if not, skip it )

3. After opened and row 1 is removed, then what do you do? just hit save? save as? if so what should save as? text(tabdelimited), or the other ones?

Seriously!!! without showing people how to do this… how the hell do you expect them to figure out the rest? the rest is useless without knowing this part?

You sure need basic HTML coding skill to understand the template system. Assuming you already know HTML, I think I made it pretty simple. I created a 5min tutorial here : CJ-Datafeed Video Tutorial I’m sure it will help.

I did some troubleshooting about the click been generated during the import process. It appear that click is generated in wp_insert_post() function… and it’s a black box for me. I try it all, disabling ping and trackback call but none fix the issue. I had to get support from WP developers to solve this. About updating CJ-Datafeed, I had in mind to generate WP import file ready to be imported via WP dashboard. Buying me a beer it’s a great way to improve CJ-Datafeed! Thanks for sharing your experiences, this help.

I just release version 1.02 but I’m not use to tortoise SVN and WP … have some hard time updating new version to WP plugin host.
