In reply to: [Vimeography: Vimeo Video Gallery WordPress Plugin] No Support or BackupHi there,
Thanks for your message. These are some strong words coming from an anonymous user willing to call me out by name. I’m happy to handle this support case in public, but we’re always available to help via email at [email protected]
It’s a bit tough to link your multiple sites and monikers to a customer record in our system, but as far as I can tell, your $49 license was purchased on June 17 2017 and has indeed expired.
We simply cannot perpetually support anyone in possession of an expired license. Software moves quick and our business would shutter if that were the model we’d chose.
I also don’t have record of a support ticket with you since December of 2017. If you’ve been in touch since, I’d recommend using the same name or email address that you used during your purchase when you reach out so we can help accordingly.
Here are the public facts that haven’t changed since we introduced licensing in 2014:
- Your plugin license renewals are certainly optional, but you will no longer continue to receive compatibility updates or support for your plugin.
- Your plugin will not stop working the day your license expires, but it could break in the future due to Vimeo API changes or WordPress updates.
- Annual license renewals allow me to continue development, provide updates, and offer support through my small business.
You’re welcome to continue to vent in public, but if you’d like to be proactive about getting our products up and running on your site(s) feel free to email [email protected] to continue this discussion.

In reply to: [Vimeography: Vimeo Video Gallery WordPress Plugin] Would Not RecommendLike many businesses, we have a very clear and fair 30-day return policy in place to provide you with ample time to assess your purchase. After 30 days, we are unable to process refunds.
There are several reasons that it is standard for businesses to implement refund policies, but an important one for us as a small business is to protect our operations cashflow. Payroll is processed, bills are paid, and other responsibilities are taken care of on a rolling monthly basis.
If we didn’t have a policy in place, we could be refunding cash that was leveraged literally months ago, breaking the trust we’d thought we’d built with our customer and leaving us in a shaky fiscal situation.
I have to assume this review was left without an appropriate understanding of this principle, so feel free to form your own opinion. If you have any questions about this policy, email [email protected] and we’ll be glad to discuss further.

Founder of VimeographyHey, this bug was introduced by a change with Vimeo’s player and has since been corrected in the core plugin. Try updating to the latest version and let me know if it works for you!
Hi there – firstly, this plugin and business isn’t a scam. I pour countless hours into making sure my customers have a positive experience with the software and with the support interactions. If there is something you’re not certain of or you need further assistance with anything, I’m always available to contact at our support email address listed on our website.
We’re clear about our licensing terms on our website and give you complete control over your subscription preferences on your account page (https://vimeography.com/account), where you’re free to cancel or renew at any time. In fact, even without our site, you can easily log in to your PayPal account and cancel any subscription you may have.
Please, send an email to [email protected] so that I can fully understand the problem and we can help make this right for you.
Dave
Vimeography already uses the new version of the Vimeo API, so nothing will break ??

In reply to: [Vimeography: Vimeo Video Gallery WordPress Plugin] Unlimited VideosHowdy,
When you have Pro installed, you can set the “Number of Videos” setting to 0 which will bypass all limits and show all of your videos.
Hope this helps!
DaveHello,
The .cache file is actually just the cached response from the Vimeo api that stores all of your videos so that the Vimeography plugin doesn’t need to contact Vimeo for your videos every time that the gallery loads.
This is normal and should not be a cause for any concern.
Hope this helps!
DaveHello,
Vimeography is meant to work with Vimeo collections, not single clips. If you’d only like to show one video, place it in an album and use the album as the source for your video.

I’m unable to reproduce the issue in Firefox 27.0 – can you send a link to the page with the issue?
Dave
I think this was an isolated issue, so I am marking this resolved, but feel free to post if you are experiencing any trouble or open a support ticket at the url listed above.
Dave
That error usually means Vimeo is experiencing some downtime. It has since corrected itself, sorry about the error.
Dave
Hi Taryn,
You have errors unrelated to Vimeography appearing in the javascript console.
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method ‘each’ of null custom.js:6
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method ‘on’ (index):288
event.returnValue is deprecated. Please use the standard event.preventDefault() instead.
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method ‘datepicker’ default.aspx?rid=106951&restref=106951&hover=1:131Your first step should probably be to upgrade the version of jQuery that your site uses. Your WP theme developer should be able to point you in the right direction.
Bugsauce does not use titles, but you can see the other themes that do at vimeography.com/themes
Hi Taryn,
Try making a modification to every color before you save, even if it is just back to the original color – this will force that color to be saved. Then, clear your browser cache after you save. There will be an update soon to improve to reliability of this feature.
Dave
Do you have a link to the page where you’re seeing the issue?
