Ok, for anyone reading this, the carousel plugin isn’t compatible with the TwentyTen theme, or any themes based around it or built with this as the base. Using a much more basic theme should fix most issues if you are trying to integrate with TwentyTen and having problems…

I’m getting this same error message. Tried running it on 2.8.5, 2.8.4 as well.
My host is running PHP5.
