Hey @provisuell,
Firstly, thank you so much for the feedback. We greatly appreciate when customers let us know where we could do better. This ties in perfectly with the reasoning behind why the cancellation process is as long as it is. We place a significant amount of effort into making a solid product, but if we have a good product and customers are canceling, then that means we could do better.
Because of that, we place massive importance on collecting feedback from users who wish to cancel, because feedback from someone who no longer wants to use our product is feedback in practice, and if we know why they cancel and try to improve on this, then users are usually less likely to cancel.
To cut a long story short, we really just want to have a good idea of why you wish to cancel so that we can learn from it and try to be better.
Reasoning aside, I want to apologize for the inconvenience that it has caused, and if you do wish to cancel and haven’t already done so, be sure to reach out to our support team by creating a ticket (https://wpforms.com/account/support/) and we would be happy to help out there by doing the cancellation for you.
I hope this helps, and thank you for giving us a shot!
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. As a Pro user we would love to help you to resolve this issue, so I would recommend reaching out to our support team via email at this link:
https://wpforms.com/account/support/Typically, PayPal related issues usually come up with PayPal Commerce, so be sure to confirm with PayPal support that you have PPCP (PayPal Commerce Platform) support enabled and share with us any error messages that you’re seeing via the support channel so that we can help you to get going with PayPal.
We look forward to helping you!
Thanks, and have a great one.
Hi @stoskri,
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on WPForms. We truly appreciate it. We are also really sorry to hear that WPForms was not a good fit for you, and we are happy that you have found a solution that best suits your needs for free.
While WPForms Lite does not have the ability to store entries, the plugin does allow users to have their entries sent to them via email, at no additional charge. We do allow users the option to back up their entries via Lite Connect if they intend to upgrade to a paid license, however, if a user doesn’t wish to upgrade, they typically don’t have to, and there are approximately 5 million users who have decided not to upgrade because that’s fine for them. We definitely hear you, though, and this feedback regarding entry storage will be discussed internally.
As for SMTP, if we had the option to make it easier, we 100% would, however, SMTP requires you to link your website to a third-party source, and because of that, the WP Mail SMTP plugin has to rely on the third-party’s setup process to make the connection. For this reason, we have integrations with 11 different companies, 8 of which are available for no additional charge from us, so that users can choose the one that’s easiest for them. We’re truly sorry that your experience was difficult, and we’d love to hear which of the mailers you had this issue with, so that we can explore our options for making this easier.Again, we truly appreciate the feedback, we’re really sorry that WPForms ended up not being a good fit, and any additional feedback you could share that will help to make WPForms Lite better is very valuable to us.
Thank you so much, all the best, and have an awesome day.Hi @1note4u,
It has been a pleasure!
While we would’ve preferred to have you use WPFroms, it’s completely understandable if you find an option that suits you better, and we’re happy you have!
We’ll definitely be going back to the drawing board here to see what we could do to make WPForms Lite better, and if you have any other bits of information that you could share that we could benefit from, please always feel free to let us know, we truly appreciate the feedback!
Thanks, and all the best!
Hi @1note4u,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback.
While WPForms Lite is positioned below our Basic level paid license, we still wanted it to be as useful as possible, so while fields such as the Address field and phone field that are available in the paid versions of WPForms are not available in WPForms Lite, there are still ways to collect this type of information, and I’ll share a few ways to do this based on your review:
Address Field – You can create a custom address field in the form using Single Line Text fields and a Dropdown field. You may add options to a Dropdown field using our?Bulk Add?option in the form builder. To do this, click on the Dropdown field and in the left Field Option panel, click on?Bulk Add. In the new section that appears, select?Show Presets. You can then select from our list of preset choices. We have a detailed tutorial on that here: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-bulk-add-choices-for-multiple-choice-checkbox-and-dropdown-fields/
For the Zip Code subfield you can use the Numbers field, or require that users can only add numbers to a Single Line Text field using the input mask method. We have more details in our tutorial here: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-use-custom-input-masks/
If you’d like to, you can also format your form to have multiple columns. We have a great tutorial on how to do that here: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-create-multi-column-form-layouts-in-wpforms/.
Phone field – This can be done in the same way that Zip Codes are done. You can use a Single Line Text field with a custom input mask that’s set to collect a phone number.
The Lite version of WPForms is definitely limited compared to the paid versions, however, we still wanted to ensure that it could still be a usable product, and it most definitely is, however, we’ll most definitely look into your feedback and assess the product to see where we could add more value to WPForms Lite.
Once more, I must say thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on WPForms Lite, and if you have any other questions or follow-ups be sure to let us know!
Thanks, and have a great one.
Hi @hjschreier,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, we’re glad to hear that WPForms has been a good experience!
We noticed that you rated us four stars, and while that’s good and we really appreciate it, we were wondering what we could’ve possibly done better to earn that 5th star. Whenever you have some time, would you be open to sharing with us what we possibly could’ve done better?
Thank you again for leaving your feedback, and have a great one! ??
Hi @quitasking,
Thank you so much for sharing your honest feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
First off I’m happy to hear that WPForms works well for you. Our biggest hope is that users have the ability to create any form they wish to create at their fingertips.
As for your rating-related comments, we take feedback very seriously as WPForms was created out of necessity but was then built into the amazing tool it is today, mostly based on customer feedback, so we tend to do our best to get as much feedback on what we can do better as we can as that’s a big part of how we determine our direction.
We do, however, apologize that this part of the experience has proven to be abrasive for you, and we appreciate you sharing this with us. Could you kindly share any specific prompt(s) or aspects of this workflow that you think may have been too much? That should give us a solid marker for where we might need to make changes. With that information, I’ll be sure to raise this feedback with the team so that we can make any necessary adjustments to the feedback workflow.
Thank you again, for sharing, and we hope to make this better in the future.Hey @bigcheesez,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry for any trouble with the messages about premium features within WPForms Lite. It’s definitely not our intention to over-promote the paid version of WPForms or cause any annoyance for users! I’ve passed this thread on to the rest of the team for further review.
In order to get some action going, if you have any thoughts of specific messages that you would prefer to have faded or removed, please do share the details about it on the?WPForms Lite www.ads-software.com Support?forum.
Again, I apologize on behalf of the team for the trouble.
Thanks, and have a great one!Hi @cfc01,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. I’m so sorry to hear that your experience was soiled by the presence of spam.
We have a couple of recommended options for spam protection. These are built into the form builder for quick access (see screenshot):
First, we have a built-in anti-spam protection feature which is enabled by default. This does not require any additional setup. When enabled in the form, it works in the background to protect your forms against spam. For more details about the anti-spam protection feature, please see our tutorial here.
Additionally, we have other spam prevention options in WPForms which we highly recommend to be paired with Anti-Spam Protection:
- Google’s free reCAPTCHA service: This is a very popular option with built-in integration. Our integration includes 3 versions you can choose between: a traditional checkbox, “invisible”, and v3. You can find details on all of these in our tutorial here.
- hCaptcha: This is a good option if you’d prefer not to sign up for Google’s reCAPTCHA service. Within your forms, hCaptcha will display a checkbox asking users to prove they’re human (much like Google’s v2 Checkbox reCAPTCHA). We have a detailed guide for setting up hCaptcha here.
- CloudFlare Turnstile: If you are interested in a privacy focussed invisible alternative that automatically chooses non-intrusive browser challenges based on client behavior, this option is for you. Please take a look at the following detailed guide for more details here.
- Our Custom Captcha addon: If you’d prefer to choose the question(s) your visitors must answer, the Custom Captcha is a good option. This addon is available with all of our paid licenses, and you can find all the details here.
- Akismet Anti-Spam Protection: Akismet is one of the top anti-spam protection plugins on www.ads-software.com. If you have this plugin set up on your site, you can easily integrate it into your forms. Please see this guide on how to set up Akismet and enable
it to your forms. - Country restrictions filter: This is an effective option if you’d like to allow or deny form submissions from specific countries. We have a detailed guide for settings this up.
- Keyword restrictions filter: Same as above you can toggle this option to effectively block any form submissions that contain specific keywords. We have a detailed guide for settings this up here.
- Block or allow specific email addresses: Using our Allowlist/Denylist feature, you can restrict or allow specific email addresses that can be used to submit your forms. We have a detailed tutorial for setting this up here.
While we completely understand that you decided to move on because of this, it would mean a lot to us if you gave those a try, and if you have any other possible suggestions that we could use to improve our spam prevention efforts, we would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you, and have a great one.- This reply was modified 1 year, 5 months ago by Tajay Quest.
Hi @eaec!
No worries! The security of your website is paramount and I don’t blame you for being more vigilant. If I was in your situation I think I would do the same.
Also, thank you so much for your suggestion. It definitely sounds like a good option and I’ll be sure to share it with the team so that they can consider the best ways to implement it.
It means a lot that you took the time to share a different way to do this, a customer’s opinion is always so valuable, and it’s the best way for us to know how to provide the best experience for you.
Again, I’m so sorry for the inconvenience and frustration. If you have any other questions or thoughts, be sure to let us know.

Hi @eaec,
Thank you so much for your understanding, and for your additional thoughts on this. We definitely see things from your perspective, and we take none of it for granted.
With that in mind, I was wondering, based on your usage, if you had any specific thoughts on how we could improve this wizard. We’ve been discussing the workflow internally, and I think a user’s outlook would be very valuable to any improvements that we could make here.
Thank you in advance!Hi @eaec,
I must straightaway apologize for the confusion here and thank you for sharing your feedback.
I would like to take a second to share with you exactly what has happened, as I believe it’s very important that you know exactly what is happening on your website.
Whenever you run the WP Mail SMTP setup wizard, the third step (labeled “Which email features do you want to enable?”) gives you a number of options to enable or disable. If you keep the Smart Contact Form and WordPress SEO Toolkit options enabled, as mentioned in the last highlighted item in the screenshot above, the WPForms and AIOSEO plugins will be installed (for free).
Kindly note that you do have the option to disable these and skip the installation of those plugins as we understand that you may have other options enabled that you would prefer to use over these, however, we simply aim to provide an ecosystem of great tools that work together to help to take your website to the next level, and we apologize if this was too intrusive.
In case it helps, you may uninstall these plugins by going to Plugins > All Plugins and disabling then deleting each from the list.
Thank you, once more, for your feedback, and we do hope you have a great one.Hi @etamboise,
First of all, I must say thank you for sharing your honest feedback about WPForms Lite, and I am truly sorry that the experience has been less than ideal. In case it helps to share this information, WPForms Lite form submissions are not stored in WordPress and only exist in the notification emails that are sent. We’ve provided clarification about this on the?Entries page in Lite. And if you have any suggestions on how we can better clarify the entry page notice in Lite, please let me know.
Please also know that the?form notifications?are very helpful for keeping a log of new submissions, and you can also add users as email subscribers when you?connect WPForms to Constant Contact.
In Lite, while you’re able to set up one notification email — you can send this one notification to as many different email addresses as you’d like. That said, if you are already aware of the notifications and facing an email delivery issue, you can check that your form notification settings are configured correctly by following our tutorial.
If your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely because the emails sent from WordPress are not authenticated (unlike emails sent directly from dedicated email service providers). As a result, they are likely to be filtered by the receiving mail server.
To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure an SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.
And if there are any other issues where you’d like more help with using WPForms Lite, please feel welcome to post in our?WPForms Lite support forum.
Thank you once again for your feedback, and do have a great one.Best Regards.
Hi @dawazote,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and I’m so sorry to hear that your experience has been less than ideal.
It is, in fact, true that the on-site entry storage feature is only available on paid versions, however, for users who prefer to stick with the free version, it is recommended that they leverage the notifications feature so that entries can be managed via email.
In case it helps, we have more in-depth guidance about configuring notifications here, and if upon testing, it is found that there are delivery issues, the best ways to resolve email delivery issues can be found here.
Also, even if you opt out of using WPForms, you might be able to retrieve data from previous submissions by contacting your site’s hosting provider to ask if they are able to retrieve the undelivered emails through the email logs, just so you can at least have the information.
Again, I’m so sorry that the experience was not up to par, and if you have any additional questions or thoughts that could help us with improving this, be sure to let us know.
Thanks!Hi @kevp75,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We truly appreciate your input here and we’re really sorry that we were not able to provide a complete solution here based on our support scope.
I did see that Prashant shared with you two hooks with developer documentation that could be used to achieve your requirements. I also notice that you’re looking to use a different plugin. By any chance, have you tried the solutions that were shared? Based on the code that you shared, it is likely that the action that you were using is being called too late, which is likely the basis of the issue here. Would you be open to giving this another try with the actions Prashant mentioned? It would mean a lot to us.
Again, we greatly appreciate the time taken to share your feedback, and we will definitely do our best to use this feedback as a means to improve our product and the service behind it for all of our users.
Have a great one!
