Why are my albums not grouping?
Why are all images appearing in all albums?

Sorry Kartiks I was getting my php mixed up with my wordpress versions. Between upgrading my php at my host control panel and trying different .htaccess codes I got it back but what did it I have no idea. Many thanks for your help.

That didn’t work but through the source code of the home page I can see that it’s v4.7.5. Does that help?

Thanks for your reply but I’ve had it done for me and paid for the service, but I want to learn how to do it myself. Photoshop layer files to WordPress templates… I was recommended software, it was nearly a year ago though and I can’t remember the name. I’m pretty sure it’s out there though. I’ll keep looking.

Permissions vary but mostly 775 and 660. The host has corrected them once, though I’m not sure for the whole site. Definitely no consistency throughout.

Correct image URLs ‘do’ load images in my browser.

Error console was bringing up errors for one plugin, “Enhanced Media Library” – deactivated it but no change. Also error in load-scripts.php but don’t know what I’m looking at.

There is an htaccess file that reads thus:

I just loaded a new image to the media library, it uploaded, it’s there on the server in /2017/07/ but still the media library is empty! Media categories has retained all it’s information, including how many images are in each category but click on their gallery and it is empty. Any clues?

Thank you for your advice. I had already tried Add from Server but without success. Likewise, Media from FTP. Both came up with errors, as did Thumbnail Cleaner which might suggest there are issues deeper within.

Just stumbled upon the answer to my own query and can’t believe I didn’t twig before! Just go to Settings > Permalinks and change the common settings to “Post name”. Probably change it to anything but the default “Plain” _ I’m guessing but “Post name” worked for me.

What was I thinking?!

Yes well I’d agree but I wasn’t having much joy going down that route. All recommendations in another post were unsuccessful.

New day. New approach. After the attack I updated the WordPress version to 4.6, I can’t remember what it used to be but I notice that MarketPress is “untested” with this version. Maybe this is where the glitch has come from?

I’m carrying on posting hoping that something might hit a note with somebody. Desperate measures! Grateful for any response right now.

Disabled plugins one by one and reinstalled WordFence but still nothing! Losing the will to live here and all hope resting in a place where no-one can here you scream! This is nuts! Is anybody out there that can offer any help?!… I’ll pay good money!!
