In reply to: No Images ShowingI have now got two installations of the basic default WordPress 2.7 installation, each in a separate directory, neither are showing any images.
It seems to affect the root directory, but not my entire hosting account, other domain roots on the account are ok. Contacting my webhost, I suggest you do the same if you have this problem.

In reply to: No Images ShowingI have the same problem. I’ve just installed new WordPress site, just the absolutely basics, no themes added, no customisation, new database, and yet still no images, any ideas?
The images also do not show in the admin area, for example screenshots of the included Default and Classic themes are not shown, neither are arrows on the dropdown navigation.
I am using WordPress 2.7

In reply to: How do I hide page titles? This was very helpful, although I deleted everything within the H1 tags and it works great on WordPress 2.7.

In reply to: GoDaddy DB Change IssueI’m not an expert, but have you tried editing the file wp-config.php
Download that file, make a copy, then edit and upload it. Maybe that will be enough. I suggest setting permissions to 444 using your FTP client if you don’t already.
I did get the email too as I have unused hosting with GoDaddy which is my domains are (they are fantastic for domains), but the hosting I use is with Siteground. You can’t beat good customer service with a typical response time of around 3 minutes! It’s the cheapest too if you have 3 or more websites.

In reply to: Help with defining a static homepage without a duplicate nav link.I found why the other pages created didn’t exist. It was because the WordPress URL in – Settings > General – were not correctly defined.

In reply to: Help with defining a static homepage without a duplicate nav link. Thanks Michael, I had a look in header.php and found it hardcoded, so I removed the link, so that’s one of the problems resolved.
I have also found the other pages created don’t seem to exist, or at least the links to them in the navbar are wrong. Shall I create a new thread for this or can you help?
WordPress 2.7 is installed in the root area of my hosting account.
Thank you.

In reply to: How to create page not visible in navigation menuI kind of asked the same question in the message board on the forum just a few minutes before you asked. No reply yet though. I had a look at the link from Hedley but it’s not a specific post I’m trying to hide, it is a static page, which is set as the homepage.
I have also found all the pages I’ve created show up on the navigation but all trying any link results in “Internal Server Error”. The advice in link provided by Hedley cannot work without unless the page exists in the first place. At the moment it seems to be just a menubar navigation link.

In reply to: Uploading Theme problems. The folder for the theme and everything in it should be uploaded to the following folder: wp-content/themes/
If you can’t find the folder “wp-content”, then you might like to review installing to ensure it is all installed correctly.

In reply to: How to select which posts go to the home page and which don’t?Epicenter, I think non-blog posts (static pages) can be created as HTML pages (not as a new post) and then you can a link to it in the header file so that it appears in the horizontal navigation across the top of the page, and also add a link to the page in a HTML widget in your sidebar. This does require fairly good knowledge of HTML code.
Part of my planned site is a blog, but it’s not the main part, so is there a way to designate a secondary page as the blog index?
Thank you.
