OK I found the problem: I was working with Zerif Lite before and had problems changing the font in the .intro-text section (the CSS font added won’t over-ride the default font), so I ended up deleting the plugin and Zerif Lite theme.

In that process, it seems all the Widgets were disabled automatically.

Then when I re-installed, the widgets stayed disabled.

I dragged the widgets back to the respective sections in the “Sidebar” box areas to the top right of the “Appearance -> Widgets” page. Now it’s working.

So in retrospect, it is intelligent to disable widgets with data in them so the data is not lost in the event of a re-installation. I had to dig, though, to find the cause.

So I’m posting this in case anyone else finds the same situation, where they already worked with Zerif Lite, re-installed it and the ThemeIsle Companion plugin and then found that the new install of Zerif Lite did not appear to find the plugin.

    So: Resolved.
