In reply to: [Starbox - the Author Box for Humans] Social links not showingThanks. That worked, and yes, I will give it a good rating because of the quick response.

In reply to: [Starbox - the Author Box for Humans] Social links not showingMaybe I wasn’t clear. I used the words “Find me” in the social settings panel (user settings page). Then I gave a Twitter and Facebook URL. The icons appear with the words on the author tab as expected.
In the “recent posts” tab, the words “Find me” show up without the icons. Just hanging there in mid-air without anywhere for users to click on. No icons. just words.
My issue is: how do I turn off the words from showing on the recent posts tab?

In reply to: [Starbox - the Author Box for Humans] Increase number of latest posts linksThanks.
However, if you could post a script fix from 3 to 5, something I can cut and paste into a PHP file, I would appreciate it. Or at least tell me which code file it’s lurking in and I will see if I can find it myself.

In reply to: [Verbosa] Problems displaying the menuThe arrow shows for me (just installed this theme today to replace Twenty Seventeen theme). Is that not in the breadcrumbs setting?

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Change header font in Twenty Seventeen themeIf it’s the headline for the blog post summaries on the front page (not a static page), I changed the headline attributes by adding this to the “additional CSS:
h2,
.home.blog .entry-title,
.page .panel-content .recent-posts .entry-title .entry-header {
font-size: 26px;
font-size: 1.625rem;
font-weight: 600;
color: #134D87;
}I didn’t change the actual font, but it can be added here with the font-family attribute like this: font-family: Arial, Geneva, Helvetica, sans-serif;
For the headlines on the actual blog post itself (once the user clicks the link), I changed the h1, .home.blog .entry-title, .entry-header attributes.

In reply to: [Verbosa] Increasing post excerpts on front page?Anyone have a suggestion yet?

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Move comments directly below post content?No, they’re plugins. Related posts is, I believe, Jetpack.
I wondered if there was a template that could be altered to put comments into the proper order above them.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] No access to profile or dashboard?I take it back. It worked for a while, yesterday, but today when I logged in on an incognito window as a member, it took me right back to the profile window again. I tried logging out and back in – same thing happens every time.
It seems I also have to set the redirection links. So now it works if I do that, but…
Is there any way to entirely prevent users from getting to their profile/Jetpack/dashboard?
PS. The CAPTCHA equation doesn’t always display on the log-in page. Should it?

In reply to: [Simple Job Board] Disable online application?Thanks, it seems to have worked. I commented out the section and it looks good. I will be presenting the draft site to my board in the next few days and will recommend that if they like the look, the upgrade and get the add-ons.

In reply to: [Simple Job Board] Disable online application?Thank you, but that’s not a very informative answer. I have no way to know where to look for the particular lines. There is no place on any menu I can see, nor any place in any of the settings to alter any part of the CSS or templates in this manner.
If there is a specific line (or lines) in a specific template I can alter (or simply comment out), I would appreciate a bit more information.

In reply to: [Simple Job Board] Make job title and company name full width, not partial?Thank you, but that’s not a very informative answer. I can code in HTML and CSS and I can lumber around a PHP file if I know what to look for. But I have no way to know where to look. There is no “SJB templating feature” on any menu I can see, nor any place in any of the settings to alter any part of the CSS or templates in this manner. If there is a specific line (or lines) in a specific template I can alter, I would appreciate a bit more information.
And the theme is the Twenty Seventeen theme, so it’s not something from a custom designer: just my own tweaks and CSS hacks.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Change font and colour in page titleAdditional CSS in customize section.
I added display: none; under body.page:not(.twentyseventeen-front-page) .entry-title and that shuts it off.
The colour remains the same, however.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Change font and colour in page titleThanks, but neither affect the page-title – at least on pages (including the static first). The page-title still shows on every page, same colour as before.
I sometimes have a problem with comments being misplaced. happened today, actually. Usually they get associated with a JPG file in the media library (one that was used as a header for an older theme and not otherwise used in the past few years). The comment is listed in the “recent comments” widget in the sidebar, but not below the post intended.
To correct it, I use Tako’s move comments plugin to put it in the right place (other similar plugins also work). Pain in the backside to have to keep checking on them, but I have’t found another solution.
