In reply to: [IMPress for IDX Broker] Very disappointing. What Mike is trying to say is that you can just as easily set www. as the subdomain. Here is what Mike is referring to: https://www.idxbroker.com/features/platinum/domain-control.
You can be rude to Mike and poke fun at his website’s layout, but his IDX site generates a solid amount of activity for him and he clearly understands the technical side of IDX, and how to leverage the technology to generate business.
We have Broker client sites that take months to develop, and Agent sites that take 10 minutes (like these plug-and-play themes: https://www.idxbroker.com/wordpress-idx-themes.php). The system can work with any design. The only limitation is the Designer’s knowledge of CSS.
Your general confusion around the functionality is not about to get in the way of what IDX Broker Platinum has to offer others who try the plugin. Good luck with your search.

chaos1 – note that we are currently developing the auto-dynamic wrapper solution that you described. We hope to release that via a plugin update within a month or so.

In reply to: [IMPress for IDX Broker] Suggestion: Option To Create Wrapper PageHi – If you remove the page wrapper the static header and footer will be displayed for that page. Or do you mean that you’ve created a dynamic wrapper? Note that if you remove a dynamic wrapper the static wrapper will display on all pages.

In reply to: [IMPress for IDX Broker] Suggestion: Option To Create Wrapper PageThat’s a great idea! We haven’t hooked the page curl URL add/update function to the API but that would be a nice addition. We’ll have our developers look into this one.

In reply to: Real Estate WordPress SiteWe are an IDX plugin vendor that pulls MLS listing data from about 500 MLSs across the country.
Basically a CRM is “Customer Relationship Management” software – it’s the piece that comes after the visitor has signed up to receive property price change or new listing update emails from the IDX solution (such as ours).
IDX and MLS basically describe the same concepts – listings online. The difference with an IDX feed is that the listing data for ALL listings in a particular MLS is available to the individual Broker or Agent. These people will create a site, add the IDX feed so that the listing data appears to be generated from their site (with appropriate listing firm and MLS disclaimers and courtesies), and then uses that info to capture clients directly through their site. This is usually done through some form of client capture (e.g., forcing a signup form on the 5th property view or something.
Hope this helps!

We had not been receiving notifications from WordPress Support Forums, and those notifications were definitely not being forwarded to our Support team. For that, we apologize.
We are happy to see that you continue to subscribe to our services, and wish you the best of luck in the future.
Please contact Support directly via our Contact form.
Unfortunately we are not being notified of requests posted to our WordPress Plugin page.
We show that your account is still in good standing. We also show no record of having received any Support emails from you. Did you call about something that we were unable to resolve?
Our email turnaround time is clocked at < 2 hours, and you will always talk to a human being when you call 800-421-9668. Wait times are typically < 1 minute.
You are correct that you can also build a custom nav using that WordPress feature. We have a good article about that here.
The WordPress plugin is used often by people with less technical knowledge of customization within WordPress, although many Designers use it to give their clients a way to easily update and manage those page links from within the Plugin Admin page.
The main feature of the Plugin is the ability to pull Custom Links into your WordPress site, without having to copy and paste the links from our Control Panel. Those custom links are very helpful to gaining traction with search engines, and getting pages indexed.
We recommend that users select a custom subdomain such as www2.mysite.com or homes.mysite.com for the IDX pages. Here’s a good article that describes how to do that.
If you decide to go with www. as your custom subdomain, be sure NOT to select www. or non-www. in your Google Webmaster tools control panel. In other words DO NOT choose a preferred URL there if you choose www. as your subdomain. Also, don’t choose www. if you already have a lot of current pages indexed there. Go with www2. instead. Check that by typing “site:www.mysite.com” into Google search.
This was resolved in 1.5.2 and later. A brief planned outage lasted longer than expected. We were able to push out an update within one hour of receiving notification of this at help aT idxbroker doT com.
Unfortunately, due to the way that WordPress handles connections via their API, the connection error in the Plugin was not something that WordPress could elegantly ignore. We pushed out an update that did that for WordPress users.
Thank you for your input.
We have just released version 1.3.9. This update went through a lot of QA processes prior to release, and resolves some of the false error messages and warnings that were appearing for clients that use the latest version of PHP, or those with very strict PHP server settings.
