I had done all the steps of looking for white space etc. and nothing was fixing the problem.
Finally, I disabled the plug-ins and wham bam problem went away. The apparent offender was Lucia’sLinkLove.

I had tried all the listed fixes, permission changes, directory deletions etc. that had been listed. I even increased the size of my hosting space just in case I had run out of room. Further, I tried to let fantastico handle it since it was available but it would only take me to 3.0.3 not .4
So since I have my own server and I host everything myself for my clients, I changed the ftp and whup bang bing! PROBLEM FIXED!
Worked great on all the sites. I know it makes no sense but thats what worked.
