    Hi @jorix, thanks for your feedback. We will consider the points outlined and try to take more care of the onboarding process to be even clearer.

    But I want to explain a couple of points:

    – To make a plan upgrade directly from the dashboard and process a purchase we need to pass the user through a “secure” page and for this we use the freemius service (https://freemius.com/). I want to underline that opening the site to external communications is exactly what you do when you want to update WordPress and the various plugins directly from the www.ads-software.com repository

    We ask you to be sure that this thing is active only because many security plugins, among other features, give the possibility to close the site completely but this obviously would prevent any external connection (useful only for very particular sites such as intranet portals), it is not absolutely a practice that exposes your site to risks and is, indeed, the standard configuration of WordPress.

    – Regarding the refund issue, we realize that the repeated 14-day refund may be counterintuitive but we have decided to extend what European citizens have as a right (to be refunded within 14 days) to the whole world. We do not make distinctions of nationality or legislation and we also offer refunds to those countries that do not guarantee it. Hope this clears things up a bit.

    – We try to offer an alternative way to upgrade through our dedicated website. Going through the site you can have a more classic process in which you buy the license and receive an email with the update package and the key to activate it. We will probably have to try to make this option clearer on the WP dashboard and we thank you for this tip.

    We are a small team that has been working on this project for years and we try to take care of the direct relationship with our customers by offering a special space to do bug reporting and receive PRO assistance. We invite you to leave us some feedback there too since you are the owner of a license, we are interested in understanding what went wrong and all the difficulties you found out.

    In conclusion, I invite you to leave a report for the bugs you experienced in the free version, right here on the support section of the repository (https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/glossary-by-codeat/), because we would love to be able to trace any bugs you talk about and fix them.

    thank you for your feedback.

    I think that Jan moderated your link/reference because it’s not pertinent with a technical support request, and I think it’s a wise move to not allow people discussing business/marketing choices here.

    This doesn’t mean we are not open to discuss it at all.
    I perfectly understand what you are trying to explain to us about the responsiveness but let me explain why some features are paid and some others are not. The Pro version of our plugin was born not for profit but just because the free version needed some sustainability in supporting users. At the time (something like 3-4 years ago) we started keep track of all the time-consuming task we use to do everyday in order to provide a good level of support and we found out that the front-end tasks are the most annoying one!
    There are tons of page-builders and literally millions of different themes out there. We spend a lot of time fixing crappy code in themes or JavaScript conflict caused by some page-builder script. Our policy is “If it’s front-end, consider the pro version with the full support”.

    I don’t know if you already bought a glossary license but if you did it or you are planning to buy, please drop us a line in the support area and I will very happy to go deep in this topic with you.

    thank you for your very interesting question and sorry for the little delay in answering!

    The SEO purpose of pointing terms to cornerstone contents it’s to increase the number of internal links that really matters. A good internal link building that have also an appropriate user experience will increase the possibility that your reader will stick on your website in order to deepen your content reading the definition of a term that is a genuine “Cornerstone content”.

    The “no follow” option is useful when you want to give a great user experience, using tooltips and all the other stuff, to your readers but you don’t want to make some terms relevant in your SEO strategy, so you just set this option for a specific term and you still can use all the features of the plugin without affecting your linking strategy.

    I think it’s very easy to understand why you want to have a page full of keywords and links that points to relevant pages (if your terms are related to your website content they are good keywords for sure). A good way to achieve this goal without forcing keywords into contents is to have a “Glossary archive page”. ??

    We give options like “Tooltip only” just because sometimes people wants to tweak the usage of our plugin in order to get advantage just from the auto-link engine so we provide some settings like this one just for more flexibility but here there is no SEO purpose at all. ??

    Hi @paulpa, this is a Theme related behavior.
    In this case you should remove it conditionally using your functions.php just in Glossary pages.

    If you want a quick and dirty hack that simply will do the job add this to your custom CSS:

    Are you able to turn the tool tips on or off but leave the glossary item linked?

    Yes, with the Pro version you can easily choose your favorite display mode: link only, tooltip only or both together.

    Hello @reynoldsa,
    actually we don’t know if our plugin is compatible or not with SO Page Builder, we assume yes but you have to try by yourself. You can deactivate CM Tooltip and activate our glossay (do not leave both activated please). After that you should be able to see all of your old glossary terms in our plugin’s Glossary section of your website.

    We don’t use shortcodes in widget, we have a dedicated widget for everything so I think it will work fine. After the test with the free version you can choose to upgrade directly from your dahsboard or simply disable our plugin and reactivate CM Tooltip without loosing a single term.

    Please, let us know the result of your test before upgrading, we are very curious about the compatibility with page builders and we have special discount coupons for bughunters! ??

    We ask 29usd for the premium version and the premium support but we are here in order to solve also the free version’s issues.

    Can you kindly explain to me what do you expect from the third screenshot?

    I counted the words in the tooltip and it seems to recognize the 60 words limit (obviously it count also special char as words because there are a lot of language we support) so you have to be a little bit flexible about this aspect.

    Can you tell to us how many other words are in the term page?

    I think that you don’t need the ellipsis at the end of a complete sentence, is it correct?
    Something like “If there is a dot as last char don’t append ellipsis”.

    Or maybe are you looking for a way to eliminate ellipsis at all?

    You just have to go under settings > permalinks and press the save button in order to flush the old permalink configuration.
