In SeaMonkey browser ( Mozilla based ) the pictures look fine right now.

I did a quick search & didn’t come across my answer. Since this topic covers button sizing I’ll ask here. Is there a way we could get larger buttons? For me the buttons are just to small. Any feedback, help appreciated.

Wow that has to be the first time in a very long time I have actually gotten relevant help in any forum. Especially without all the usual forum attitudes seen here & in other places.

Long and short of it – macmanx got me back in gear. It looks as if the database refresh got me running again. First time I have ever had to go that route. Very pleased it turn out to be a simple fix.

    Thanks again.

Post are back but my front page isn’t. Cache issue or a setting I have missed – time to troubleshoot.

I’ll try the database repair before trying to reinstall with backup. Currently offloading everything using FTP. So that I will have a backup of current state before messing with anything. At this point absolutely frustrated. Thanks for the replies.

I have database backups. My full backup may be a little older than I would like it to be ( a month off the mark ). So if need be yes I could hassle with trying to put it all back together from backups. Was hoping maybe I had missed something or there was a known issue I wasn’t aware of.

Some users have reported having issues with Super Cache that caused something similar to what I am seeing. I’ve never had that plugin cause me this type of problem in the past.

Just odd that everything was working smooth then tonight boom everything is in the garbage can.

Considering the site has been live & running since 2004 I can promise that the post count shouldn’t be zero. It wasn’t last time I checked this afternoon. I hadn’t installed or played with any settings. Which makes this even more unusual.

If your having access problems. You can always downgrade to the last version of WordPress that worked smoothly for you. This can be done by using FTP software. Just upload the version that works for you using the software. In many cases this will resolve a problem until a fix can be found.

I received this same exact error when doing a manual FTP upgrade. Only used the auto upgrade once when it was first released. Haven’t touched it since. While it’s a great concept it seems to be lacking for many.

I have upgraded to many previous WordPress builds without problems in the past. Don’t have time to waste trying to figure out what the root cause of the current issue is. I’ve done a downgrade to the previous version. So everything is still currently up & running.

I can tell you I didn’t use the auto installer. Haven’t since they released it. Because it caused nothing but drama. That said lets keep a few things in mind. I used an FTP to upgrade always do. 2.9 caused a major problem for me. End story. Please don’t start screaming about free produced on own time etc either.

Moderator or not screaming at those needing help solves nothing. Yes new builds no matter how well they are tested will have users who have problems. I’m aware of this from years of providing support help online and doing beta testing. Whether you feel it is the case or not. To me there currently are a high number of users experiencing problems. This means the issues need addressed. So far I’ve only seen a couple of threads here that come close to trying to do that.

Otto42 has given the best advice from what I have read so far. I had similar issues with GoDaddy ( which I’m an affiliate of ). WP-Super-Cache, PHP5 & a static IP seem to have resolved this. Personally it seemed to me that Akismet slowed things a bit as well. Even when not running along with WP-SpamFree. I’ve chosen WP-SpamFree as my solution for now. Keep the number of plugins your using low as well. The more clutter the bigger the chance of problems.

I’ve never seen FTP related issues to this point. But the WordPress media upload process has always been slow & completely useless to me. Easier to just FTP and copy link into article. Just my 2 cents for it is worth.

I should add I wouldn’t use GoDaddy phone support if you paid me. No matter what Orange County Choppers showed you. Several years ago I tried using the phone to resolve a major problem. Biggest mistake ever.
