Log into your account and delete your WP install, usually /blog. Then drop your db tables.

WP since 2.0 only generates a standard 9 line .htaccess file. The actual rewrite rules are written to your database (somewhere in wp_options)…

That’s weird. So, how does WP use them (and apache use them) from the DB? According to the guide on mod_rewrite, the directives need to be in http.conf or .htaccess or whatever your control file is named.

What do you mean, it didn’t work? What happens when you try creating a new DB in admin’s front page? Where it says “Create new database”?

At the top of phpMyAdmin it should say something like:

Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl2

MySQL 4.0.25-standard running on localhost as your_username@localhost

If it says something like that, then you’re logged into it as your account.

Does your hosting account even allow you to run a MySQL DB? Some plans out there don’t.

You shouldn’t have to create a user, if you can access phpMyAdmin, then you’re in as a user. By default, it’s the name of your account.

Not really. Something (output) is being sent to the browser before the headers are being sent, and like that page suggested, it could be anything from white space to an errant tag.
