ah cool, then I will have a directory called wordpress in the directory called news so that the index.html and index.php dont get confused.

so what your saying jeremy is that no matter what directory wordpress is in, wordpress will still be the root?

I want the wordpress to be away from root, and only visible from its own unique directory

is this possible?

so if I put wordpress into the news directory, I can still have a unique index html file?

and it will see the database ok?

I am getting close to getting this working….. I used the php code from the default theme

however I have a few problems….

I have lost 2 images so far.
I have a navigation bar with images that is ok, then I have a main image below that, that is in the same directory and works in a normal html, but the theme does not see it?

same with an image at the bottom of the page.

my html and css seem fine, why wont the images display?
