Hoping for a simple solution ??

In reply to: Plugin repository vanishedHi Esmi
Thanks for replying so quickly ??
Sorry about being somewhat vague about the plugins. I meant this URL
https://www.imofx.com/wp-admin/plugin-install.php
Here I usually search for new plugins and add them.
That’s where those strange tags appear, right below the search field.I removed the former instances of plugin.php and plugin.install.php.
Replacing them with new ones from a freshly downloaded version of WP3.5
Thought that might do the trick ??Edwin
Hi Sebastian
I installed your plugin today (Tuesday 8th of January) and I have this problem too. WordPress version 3.5 and the latest version of your plugin. Tried by first applying the Google+ ID and then save, after which I did it the other way around. No matter what I try, both of these settings were not saved.
Would very much like to use your plugin, but right now it proves to be a little unstable. Although I’m not sure that lies with your plugin. Could be Google that’s handling API requests wrongly.
Keep it up!
Edwin
Hi Martin
You were absolutely right ??
Took your advice and waited a day (or two ;))
And indeed, finally the Tweet-stream picked up its pace again.Strange phenomenon…;)
Thanks again, you’re help is highly appreciated!

Edwin
Hi Martin
First of all, thank you for developing such a great plugin for WP!
(used it succesfully on another site before)
On October 2nd I downloaded and installed your plugin again on the following WP install. (version 3.4.2)
I use WP Super Cache and Add Link to Facebook for plugins. I did a fresh WP install. At the moment of installation, the only plugin that was active was WP Super Cache.
The moment I installed Rotating Tweets, I got that message saying that my site is rate limited by Twitter.
Do you have any ideas on how to solve this ?Kind regards,
Edwin van der Veer

In reply to: [Twitter Media Endpoint] [Plugin: Twitter Media Service] Does not installHi Patrick
As I do no longer receive any updates from Sterling, I think he stopped supporting his plugin, which is a shame. It would have made a perfect companion to WP ??
There’s an alternative though and it’s called Tweet images. If you’re an Android user like me, you can use that one in conjunction with Trumpet for Android. Trumpet is -as far as I know- the only Twitter app for the Android platform, that supports using a media endpoint.
Great for hosting your tweeted images on your own blog! You can check out: https://www.imofx.com if you’re anxious to know what it looks like. Tweet images shows up in the left sidebar of my site. My theme even throws in a nice lightbox feature when clicked ??
Hope this helps you out !

Edwin

Thanks for the response ??
Just recently I updated to WP 3.2
I think that’s why your plugin does not seem to work anymore on the server I’m hosting my site on. (Sent you another mail on this one)But on the WP 3.1 version, everything would have worked I guess ??
(shouldn’t have updated)Thanks again and hopefully, there’s a solution for the problem with installing your plugin on WP 3.2
Kind regards,
Edwin

In reply to: [Twitter Media Endpoint] Does not want to installHi Sterling
Thanks for going to great lengths in creating such a plugin ??
I do have one problem with the plugin though. It does not want to install on my WP 3.2 installation. When I try to activate it, I get the following message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class EpiCurl in /mnt/web2/31/84/52151784/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/twitter-media-endpoint/includes/EpiCurl.php on line 3
Any ideas ?

In reply to: [Tweet Images] [Plugin: Tweet Images] Tweet images for AndroidHi Simon
After a lot of experimenting, I managed to get Tweet Images for Android to work. So far I’m quite happy. ??
There’s one question though.
For posting from my mobile phone, I use Trumpet for Android, as it is the only twitter client that provides a custom media endpoint through its settings. The only problem I’m left with is, that when I post a tweet (text and image), only the text part shows up in the tweet. The image gets stripped from the tweet message and is being send to WordPress. So people can not find a way to click on a (shortened)link, to get to the image on my blog.Any ideas ? (besides buying an Iphone ;))
Kind regards,
Edwin

Sorry about ‘barking up the wrong tree’ here ??
Of course I meant to send Daniel a message, but on his web page, there’s this captcha that’s broken. So there really is no option to send him a message. Glad you have taken the trouble to mention this ‘problem’ in your stream ??But to answer your question, yes, Trumpet can handle a custom url with a preset endpoint, in the Android app. Hopefully Daniel will read this and maybe he can come up with a solution.
(Blasphemy here: Maybe I should’ve bought that Iphone 4 after all…;))Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Tweet Images] [Plugin: Tweet Images] Tweet images for AndroidHi Dolfelt
Thank you for developing an app for that ??
Just recently I decided to download Trumpet 0.6 for Android. The app looks fab, specially considering the fact that it is a beta release !
There’s just one thing that I don’t seem to get working and that’s the media endpoint.I registered my new ‘app’ on the dev.twitter site and made sure to fill in the appropriate fields, like consumer key and secret. After that, I fill in: https://imofx.com (no trailing slash, though I tried that as well) In Trumpet I put in the same data. After trying this first, I made a directory called ‘TWITTERMEDIA’ in both Trumpet and the WordPress plugin (twitter media endpoint) and assigned extensive rights to it. (even tried chmod 777)
But no matter what I do, I keep getting these error messages saying that my status can not be updated. I know Trumpet works allright, because I can send out tweets and urls get shortened. The only thing that does not seem to work is uploading images to my WP blog.
Any ideas ?
Kind regards,
Edwin

In reply to: [Twitter Media Endpoint] [Plugin: Twitter Media Service] Does not installHi Sterling
Yesterday I installed the Twitter media Endpoint plugin for WP 3.1. I used the Twitter dev url to register my ‘app’ with Twitter. Used the consumer key and secret and filled out my endpoint, which in my case is https://imofx.com (no trailing slash) Tried https://imofx.com/TWITTERMEDIA as well, after creating a directory with that name through FTP). Made sure to give extensive rights on that map (tried 777 as a last resort)
I use Trumpet as a Twitter client, because it allows me (only app I know that gives you this option) to define a custom url for media. (I want to use WP as my image hosting service). But no matter what options I try, I still get an error message that says my status can not be updated. As far as Trumpet goes, you need to define the very same endpoint in the app as in your plugin. (duh ;))
Any ideas ?

Edwin
