In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO causing redirects to home page for custom search formBut it’s not resolved. The Yoast SEO setting is conflicting with the search query. We don’t want search engines indexing date archives so the Yoast setting should be “off” but we can’t do that without Yoast interfering with the search.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO causing redirects to home page for custom search formI figured this out. If the Yoast SEO “Date Archives” is set to “Off”, I get redirected to the home page anytime there is a “monthnum” or “year” in the URL (my custom search parameters). If I set “Date Archives” to “On” I am not redirected and the search works correctly.
So the issue I have for this particular build is that there is no blog/news that should have date archives indexed. The custom post type where I have a custom search using dates but there shouldn’t be any date archive indexed. In fact ‘/2020’ and ‘my-cpt-archive-url/2020’ both return 404.
So Yoast SEO “Date Archives” should really be set to “Off” for this build but it’s interfering with my search.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO causing redirects to home page for custom search formI was requesting that the plugin support person send me a private email so I may send them login credentials and a link to replicate the issue on my build. I was not offering to provide any credentials publicly.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO causing redirects to home page for custom search formHmm, that’s interesting. I’ve been able to replicate the issue on multiple sites with Yoast SEO activated. Once I deactivate the plugin, the issue is resolved. I deactivated other plugins one by one but wasn’t able to find any other conflicts.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO causing redirects to home page for custom search formI discovered that this happens even without the advanced search functionality. I verified this occurs on a different website which has Yoast SEO active and no advanced/custom search.
To replicate this, try this url on any website with Yoast SEO installed:
/?s=anything&year=2021
I get redirected to the home page every time.Yoast is up to date on both websites.
So it seems this has nothing to do with an advanced/custom search and that Yoast will redirect any search to the home page if you add &year=2021 to the search URL.
This particular site uses the classic editor (older build). I am unaware of any other sites affected at the moment. Thanks for the help!
I noticed a diagnostics tab within the plugin settings which shows which posts are currently set to expire. That may be helpful info to site editors as they try to track down which posts are about to expire. Unfortunately I don’t see a log of already expired posts to make it easier to re-publish them. I just enabled the debug logs on that same screen so that may make life easier on the editors moving forward until this gets patched.
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=publishpress-future&tab=diagnostics
I’d like to report the same issue on a site we built and maintain. A client reported that some pages have unpublished themselves after she edited them yesterday. The plugin is not set to auto expire pages and the client did not set any pages to expire. Most pages on the site are a couple years old or more in case that matters. WP and all plugins are up to date.
This is less of a preference and more of a requirement. I understand the OAuth limitation and we’ll be using a plugin that doesn’t use OAuth. Thanks anyway for troubleshooting this issue.
I’m really sorry to hear this. This is a serious design flaw. We’ll need to uninstall Site Kit and switch to a different plugin. You should mention this limitation in the plugin description that this is not designed for agencies or managed sites.
The proposed solution doesn’t work for agencies like ours where our clients are not given the Admin role. We manage each site for our clients and make them Editors so they can’t break anything major and don’t have access to plugin settings. Clients don’t need to be connecting Google Analytics and half of them don’t even know what a Google Search Console is. I myself am the only person who builds and maintains our sites so there’s no conceivable way to use a different account to set up Site Kit.
We previously used the “Google Analytics for WordPress” plugin until Monsterinsights took over and ruined it. How does a plugin like that not run into API limits/restrictions?
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/- No, this seems to be limited to each individual site. If I reconnect a site, the others are unaffected. Similarly, when one disconnects, the others do not disconnect until ‘their time comes’.

- All our sites are hosted at MediaTemple on our VPS. The same exact hosting environment which I personally manage. PHP is 7.4.23
Sometimes I see this error on the /wp-admin dashboard after I revisit the site for the first time in a few days or a week:
Additional Permissions Required: Site Kit can’t access the relevant data from Analytics because you haven’t granted all permissions requested during setup.
Site Kit already has access to the permissions needed.
- I am the only ‘Admin’ user on any of our sites. No one else has access to the Site Kit settings.
- Most of our sites use the same base plugins and have a custom built theme (not an off the shelf/premium theme). Each site despite having a custom theme share a very similar setup and hosting environment on our VPS.
- I submitted the site health info via the Google form for one of the sites experiencing this issue.
Is there a limit as to how many sites my google account can connect to? I can’t see why permissions would be revoked for any reason.

In reply to: [Nested Pages] QuickEdit not working after UpdateQuick Edit is broken for me as well using 3.1.13. WP and all plugins up to date. Drag and drop reordering technically syncs but the progress wheel never goes away. When I refresh the Pages menu the reordering has been saved including changes made in Quick Edit but the page title change has not been synced.
