you will have to tell support that if your hosting is on a server that does not have mod_rewrite enabled then to move it to one that has mod_rewrite enabled.
They recently had a problem with the parsing of urls from the .htaccess file.. so check whether the patch to solve the error was run on the server hosting your domain.

I imported all my posts and comments from blogger perfectly using his script.

They now fully support mod rewrite.
Its a good hosting serivce, value for money, the only drawback is their support which though it gets the work done, is always late with a solution.

once I fixed this error…everything fell into place….
Mine is a completely custom theme… and hence the chances of errors are huggggeeeeee……anyways all working well now.

As I mentioned above, its got to do something with the lines I posted above.. I messed up somewhere there but its almost identical to the default theme php calls.
I have read that it could be a problem with some empty spaces but I dont know where to look for these empty spaces
