I am against all sorts of browser sniffing,

The whole web is in disarray only because of this, in the intial days there were just I.E and Netscape… so all the code was based on identifying the browser and supplying each browser a diff code based on the identification but alas since then there are more browsers and this has made the issure more complicated…

I would like to post my solution to the problem which I discovered.

The main problems are if you used the same plugin before and had implemented it with a legacy hack. For the new plugin to work, you have to

1. first upload the new plugin to the plugins directory.
2. Delete the wpgrins file from the root directory as well as the legacy hack file.
3. go to plugins and activate the new plugin

actually that is the error I get when the legacy box is unchecked… if it is checked there is no error…

I am not complaining… its working perfectly, but only in a very very diff manner is it working…

without the my-hacks.php file I am getting the foll error

with the my-hacks.php, no error and no problems… absolutely perfect .. maybe thats why so many ppl are having probs with it… I cant pinpoint why I cant use it without a my-hacks.php

But a few notes,

1. I need a copy of the wp-grins in the root in addition to the plugins folder else my whole site will not load and gives the error …

2. When I copy the wp-grins.php to the root folder, everything is perfect.

3. I am using the my-hacks.php and has enabled it though the new readme for ver 1.2 doesn’t mention anything about it.

I downloaded an old one.. podz you are a life saver..

I got it now, i had to upload another plugin along with it for the wp-grins to show up on the plugin list.

Jinsan, I am not fond of span class and try to avoid it all costs, it is also not an efficient way to code, for every post I’d have to handcode the span class which would beat the purpose of the css. ….. anyways thanks for your suggestion my friend… god bless ya.

Podz, as usual absolutely ditto, it did the trick but now am left with a precarious situation where all the paragraphs start with drop caps.. I dont want that to happen.. I want only the first para to do that but alas all the paras are doing this..
