** that google xml plugin doesn’t grab enough information, that’s why I had concern, the SEO by Yoast does a lot more.

That’s the problem: “Settings>>Permalinks=404 Error” I’m unable to even get the page to come up in wp-admin

I’ve done all of those early yesterday, still “/wp-admin/options-permalink.php” (page not found)

File is there, nothing has touched it.

I have gone into the wp db and added /%postname% to get the ‘pretty’ URLs back, but I still can not get that Permalinks to work from the admin menu. (if I try /%year%/%postname% in the db–the links no longer work on the site)

Something is really going on here that has really messed things up bad.

the oops page broken when you click on “Permalinks” ?

If so, you need to use:

Scroll down to the bottom where it talks about the .htaccess content, that should (in theory) get it working again for you.

Thank you very kindly, I’m glad you like the site!

Some of the images within the articles may or may not be copyright material so some are usually not larger scale due to that–just little snapshots.

I am on the hunt for a mod out there that places a small magnify-glass on images so users know for sure they will get a larger view of the image, but that hunt is still on. News images are hit or miss though, sometimes I’ll have a larger image, most of the time not.

I have had this quite often myself. What seems to help it along is saving it in draft, re-adjusting your titles and text a little, and trying again.

Sadly it’s not the fix-all, but seems to help at times. I still have a very difficult time trying to get them all green–like it hates me!

Yoast SEO doesn’t seem to work live as you work, so saving is one way to work around it.

Might not be helpful to all, but in hopes for some.

I would do the following:

Headline fonts are too large
Header image seems very dull, needs more vibe
Menu should be more crisp to the design and flow better, currently blends into the site too much.
