How are you going to define ‘staff’? User roles?
Who would be downloading? Everyone, or just staff, or just members?

I’m not entirely sure what they mean by this. Website ‘clones’?
Juwa, if matty’s awesome fix didn’t work, let us know and we can take a look for you ??

In reply to: Unable to Log Into Sitemiffalicious – the site loads for me, so you may have fixed the problem.
If not, it looks like you’re using OpenID in addition to the normal login process. You may want to remove that for now and see if you can log back in. Sometimes plugins do silly things. You can disable a plugin by removing the folder from your wp-content/plugins folder.
Wish we could change it, but sadly spammers were causing a lot of hassle :/ We’d rather keep your email up and add the hassle vs you not being able to get email at all.
If you want another workaround, you can install the plugin SMTP Configure and activate it. It’ll magically fix it for you.

In reply to: Hosting and memory questionsIt’s a lot to learn at first, I feel your pain. Remember, though, learning to drive ?? You had all this awesome freedom, and at the same time, a huge amount of responsibility and (in my experience) dread. You had to learn how to do everything with driving, riding a bike, cooking, and none of it all just jumped into your head magically formed ??
So it’s okay and perfectly normal to be overwhelmed! We’re here for you ?? We were all where you were once.
Now take a deep breath. Hold it for a count of three. Exhale. Do it again.
Crack your knuckles, and lets jump in!
1000 hits a day is a decent amount of traffic (well done!). Your site should run just fine on 90MB allocated to PHP, and while you can up that on a VPS, we should take a look at why it’s that high.
Are you using any caching plugins yet?

In reply to: incredbily slow websiteYou’re welcome! If that doesn’t help, open up a ticket with our support techs (and link to this thread so they know what’s gone on). I’ll keep an eye out for it just in case ??

In reply to: incredbily slow websiteIt’s a little faster (my check runs a full 2 seconds faster, but at a 4.5 second page load, yeah, it’s still less than optimal). It’s not likely to be your host (or your server) since when I look at your other sites on the same hosting account, they’re fast (though they have nothing in them save a favicon). That tells me the server’s doing okay ??
Looking into your error log, I see a lot of lines with “Premature end of script headers:” and looking at your panel, I see you’re using PHP 4. I’m honestly surprised your site is working at all (WP doesn’t support PHP 4 anymore, for what it’s worth).
You should switch your domains to PHP 5 (I would do 5.3 FastCGI, but the 5.2 FastCGI is our default). You also may want to turn on CloudFlare (which I see you have on a subdomain, which is loading in 1.4 seconds).

In reply to: wordpress 3.3.1 site running slowedmay, I took a look at your setup.
Please upgrade! Version 3.3.1 is old and less secure than the current 3.4.2. This goes for your plugins as well (I see 4 plugins that need updating, as well as Akismet and Hello Dolly, which get updated with a core upgrade).
You may need to consider a caching plugin. Your site gets a pretty good chunk of traffic (your bandwidth is about 300megs a day, not bad! ?? ) We recommend using WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache to speed things up.

In reply to: incredbily slow websiteOther than ‘pick a different’ theme? Not really.
If someone bought the theme for you, they should have also left you with the ability to contact the theme (i.e. the license for that theme). If they didn’t, it’s difficult :/
There are a lot of free themes here: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/
And even more commercial ones here: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/commercial/
All of those themes and companies are checked by WP to make sure their code is up to snuff, and their response time is beneficial for users.

In reply to: incredbily slow websiteblogreco, yes, your site is running a little sluggishly.
I took a fast look at your site, and I can see you have a lot of plugins that could use updating. Also the cache plugin you’re using is Quick-Cache. We actually recommend using either WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache. If you want to stick with Quick Cache, I would add in a Minification plugin (like https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-minify/ ) which will compress your CSS and make it load faster.
The first thing I would do is get rid of some of your plugins. All the ones you’re not using, delete. The timthumb-vulnerability-scanner, for one, isn’t needed unless you’re using themes with TimThumb for most people. Also if you’re not using the importer plugins (blogger etc), turn them off and get rid of them.
The other thing to keep in mind is your theme, Duotive. Because that’s hosted on ThemeForest, you may not get update notifications, so make sure you have their latest version.

Also @briancanine – I’m sorry to hear that.

In reply to: Trouble Installing from DreamhostAre you trying to reinstall via 1-click?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Trouble Installing from DreamhostYou’ll need to delete the files WP installed in your /home/USERNAME/uuvc.org/<wherever WP is> folder.
You may also need to delete the old one-click and start over, though it appears you already did that.
Where are you trying to 1-click install WP?
