The widgets are not available in Neve FSE because this is the default behaviour on any FSE theme. You can check if the translating plugin that you use offers FSE support.

I’m sorry that you had a negative experience while using LightStart!

While navigating in the onboarding, you can deselect the installation of other plugins. LightStart also works without any assisting plugin installed.

The issue you are encountering might be related to some different factors like Server configuration, Hosting or Permalinks settings.

You can try to go to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and click the Save changes button.

If the problem persists, you can also try to disable all the plugins and see if the issue persists, because this can also be a plugin conflict.

The desktop/mobile alignment in your case comes from the block settings, so if you want to use different alignments in desktop and mobile, you’ll have to find a different block that allows it or add some custom CSS to the existing one.

The recommended width/height for a featured image is 930px x 630px. If you use a vertical image, it will be resized in order to fit the default dimensions.

It’s best to use the recommended sizes so the images won’t be changed when they are used as post featured images.

You can add/edit widgets either by going to Appearance > Widgets or Customizer > Widgets. I tried adding some Footer widgets and it worked as expected in my case -> https://vertis.d.pr/i/LAGGZd.
