This sounds like the same issue I am having but, it does have a business impact. My host has now closed down my site due to breaches of CPU limits. I notice an “unidentified” bot from IP 192.0.84.33 taking up a lot of bandwidth. It belongs to Automattic Inc. Is that where it’s coming from? Have denied it anyway.

I have the same issue and read and tried all the fixes for this but, I’m not going to go through every php file and check for white spaces! (I did check the obvious ones and they all seem to have them) I switched off the Categories Taxonomy for now which seems to work but, I didn’t need to before.
