At the time of my original post, all admin users were displaying the default gravatar when viewing the post edit screen.
However, I just rolled back and tested again in Chrome and Firefox and, you are correct, they do seem to be displaying. Perhaps a glitch in their system or cache issue at the time? Trust me, I tested and tested and tested and they wouldn’t display.
So, either way appears to work (but .jpg is optional anyway according to the original author).
Thanks for posting back on this and my apologies. Whatever the issue was, it’s not an issue anymore.
… gotta love it when that happens.
I’ve been on the phone with IPOWER support for an hour trying to explain this to them. It’s not just WP sites, I’m seeing it on my Joomla! sites as well. Therefor, it is most likely something to do with their MySQL servers. What I do know is that you can google the domain name infoitpoweringgathering.com and if you do a whois on any of the sites where the script is showing as indexed you will find the following:
Name Server: NS1.IPOWER.COM
Name Server: NS2.IPOWER.COM
or
Name Server: NS1.IPOWERDNS.COM
Name Server: NS1.IPOWERWEB.NET8 out of 8 that I did a whois on came back with one of the above.
Some of you may recall that something similar happen with MediaTemple back in December of 2009 – where one of their Gridservers was compromised. It took them months to clean it up!
