Hi Gary,
I can SOOO relate. This site build has had me sitting on my butt for way too long. My muscles are also turning into fat as I type and configure and blindly try to move my way around!!
Thanks for the site kudos – today has been hell. Don’t know what happened when I went and installed the forums, but all went bezerk. Trying to get it fixed today has been an exercise in banging my head against the wall, over and over again.
A lot of it has to do with my inability to follow instructions, lol.
If you can do what you are saying you can do – you are waaaaayyyy smarter than me. Also, you are never over competing!!
I’m supposed to be racing in the ITU Long Course World Championships in Spain at the end of July. If I can’t get this website built and move on back to training, I’m gonna be screwed. That’s one Looooonnnggg race.
Anyway, thanks for giving this plugin a shot. I’ll be watching for it!
I wish to goodness I lived in Boulder – that’s where some serious triathletes are!
Cheers!
WendyOMGoodness – if you could get that stuff integrated and fixed (group forums, tasks, live group chat, docs, calendar events) it would save me an arse-load of headaches!! I wish I were smart enough to get in there and help, but I am just struggling my way through trying to create a very feature-rich site….
I’ll be following along with fingers crossed!
Thanks!
IsisHi gary_mazz,
Please do update upon the fix of this issue. This could be a very powerful tool for the groups within my WPMU / BP install. I don’t want to mess with it right now if it has an issue (plenty of other things to set up) but I will be checking on this one often. Would be awesome to implement!
Thanks for working on it – I really appreciate everything plugin developers do for those of us who use them!
Thanks!
IsisForum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress not showing after installationI know very little but after teaching myself and working with two different hosting providers and several sites over the past year or so, I DO know this:
Your site does not KNOW how to display itself without the index.php – that is the root file that tells it how to display, which files to read in what order, etc. Do you have a backup copy of it that you can reinstall? Can you get one from your host? Try re-installing that asap. If after doing that you are still getting nothing to show on your domain, go to where you downloaded your wordpress files locally. Find the index.php file there (under wp-admin, wp-includes, etc – it is a single file) and FTP that over to your site – overwrite it on your public html file.
That should get your wordpress site to show. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
