Thanks for getting back.
I had also contacted my web host. They confirmed that this was an issue on their end where another user on the server had blocked Googlebot and somehow this impacted their global rules on their server. They’ve since rectified this issue to stop this from happening again and said that in the history of them operating that this is the first time this has happened.
I want to say that this was NOT Wordfence at all, so apologies that I even dragged Wordfence into this in the first place, but hopefully understandably it was the thing I could think that was causing the issue — since from what I already found on Google people were saying as such. I’ve since switched Wordfence back on on my sites.
