I updated the permalinks, and it seems to be fixed. I already had the .htaccess in the wordpress folder. Is this a common problem on wordpress?

I had the same problem. I contacted support, and my webhost said that it was necessary to use the host’s server name. I use IX hosting, and had to use mysql26.ixwebhosting.com instead of localhost. Worked right away with that modification. Hope that helps.
