@paceman – I’m in the process of migrating away from Jetpack for a variety of reasons (this just being one of them).

There’s a plugin called Tiled Galleries Carousel Without Jetpack that I’ve been using that gives me what I need, and addressed this problem.

@drawmyface yes, that’s correct… I went with Discuz when I couldn’t fix this. I don’t have another example on this site as I’ve fixed it with another plugin.

Will let you know if I run across it again on another site that’s still utilizing Jetpack Comments.

In looking through some other threads, it appears I’m not the only person having this issue…

This is absolutely not resolved.

@osarusan same issue for me a few days ago… I opened this ticket on 2.3.2021.

Some additional context for you @jeherve

This only appears to be an issue with TILED GALLERIES.

On this site, https://www.406northlane.com/official-wrestlemania-logos-through-the-years/, tiled galleries are OFF and it works just fine. When I turn it on, I get the same behavior (IE no more carousel). Just confirming what @guildjenn says above.

Updated LINK TO gallery settings from ATTACHMENT PAGE to NONE and that fixed the problem.

However, again, this gallery was not originally set up to link to attachment page.

All galleries on my site(s) have been changed in this way (LINK TO >> ATTACHMENT PAGE)

@jeherve – yes appears to be happening on all galleries.

Gallery Setting I believe are the problem…

LINK TO: ATTACHMENT PAGE
COLUMNS: 3
SIZE: Thumbnail
TYPE: Tiled Mosaic

I changed the LINK TO from ATTACHMENT PAGE to NONE and it fixed the problem.

HOWEVER… this gallery was NOT created using LINK TO >> ATTACHMENT PAGE. It appears that the upgrade to 9.4 has changed the gallery settings.

Same issue here @hopkirk – I’ve been advised to remove it, which I’ve done. Sites are now back up and going much faster than before.

Sadly, Wordfence appears to have gone the route of JETPACK and has turned into a bloated plugin that no longer provides the value that it once did.

Sad day.
