Create a CNAME instead the A record under Cloudflare’s Dns tab. Check this example:
In this example I used one category’s slug from my site to turn it into a subdomain. That’s the setting I’m using on Cloudflare and you should too. The alias must be yourdomain.com (don’t use http or www). Don’t forget to click on the cloud icon on the left to turn it orange. If it is grey it won’t work. Can you provide a screeshot from your Cloudflare’s Dns settings page? I would like to see your current settings.

If you set the pluging the right way from subdomains plugin settings and wildcard subdomains from host, it should work. Keep in mind you need to wait 24-48 hours for subdomain propagation.

Please, share a screenshot from the subdomains creation page instead. That way I can check the document root.

I use hostgator.com for hosting and wildcard subdomains progapate fast but it varies from host to host. I use this plugin for subdomains and is working great.

Be patient. If suddomains are set the right way from your cpanel, everything’s is going to work just fine.

Not for now. Take into consideration the time dns requires to propagate. If you activated the plugin and created de subdomain “tutorial” less than 24 hours ago, you must wait for 24-48 hours for propagation.

I would like to check your “Main Category As Subdomain” settings.

If you add another subdomain:
Document Root:
/public_html/cats

you get the idea.

For example. If your primary domain from 1&1 is Mydomain.com and categories from that wordpress sites are: dogs, cats, etc. the Document Root should look like:

Domain:
Mydomain.com

Document Root:
/public_html/dogs

You have to manually create each subdomain in the 1&1 Control Panel.
