If your using any custom sidebar, you’d need to set your default sidebars in appearance > custom sidebars > default sidebars.

If you have a widget area, you should be able to use this plugin to add a custom sidebar and add widgets.

You’d need to have an area in your theme and then use some CSS, you can also register a sidebar manually and move with CSS https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/register_sidebar

If you go to appearance > custom sidebars > default sidebars > posts types (click), choose the sidebar from the dropdown box of your select post type and save.

Sorry about the delay here.

The custom sidebar shouldn’t be causing that, but to remove leave a reply (if you have comments enabled, the following will remove the comment form, as well as leave a reply),

Then use

#respond {
	display: none;
}

Within your style.css, It’ll be overwritten on a theme update, so I’d recommend installing either a custom CSS plugin or using a child theme.

This is most likely as if it’s a serialized array or string in the database, the search and replace of a text editor won’t work for that.

Try using this script here https://github.com/interconnectit/Search-Replace-DB
