I figured it out. I had an Apache2 rewrite rule that was adding a / to the end of files when not present that was causing the problem. Ran down a lot of rabbit holes on the way, however.

LOL, that’s good to hear. One of the WordPress help guides I saw advised if you’re not a developer to follow a 15-step process. Whoa!

Your suggestion has a lot fewer steps.

In trying to solve my issue, I did read up some on changing the URL of a multisite blog and it sounds painful.

If you are just trying to get what you had, you might look at what the siteURL and Home values are.

My site URL remained correct after the upgrade, but the home URL went to www and that (apparently) hosed it. It only affected the top level blog (the one at the root level).

I don’t if that is the same malady that has befallen you?

In my case, the webserver virtual host is set to domain.com and a server alias is set to https://www.domain.com.

I’m not sure why the “home” was different from the site URL.

Could this be an issue?

The siteURL for root level blog is https://knoxblogs.com
while the “home” is https://www.knoxblogs.com/ (both are grayed out in the admin).

On the subfolder blogs, the siteURl and home url do not have the www. But they are not grayed and are in form fields i could change (it appears).

I turned off varnish and switched apache back to port 80

Actually, I don’t have any upper letters in my path. I wish it was that simple.

I haven’t seen any new errors yet regarding

/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/shortcodes/js/polldaddy-shortcode.js

However, I looked in the jetpack zip file and there is no such file

/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/shortcodes/js/polldaddy-shortcode.js

I wonder why it’s getting called?

My Apache logs only show the home page or page 2 of the home page throwing the error.

Thanks @steve … I couldn’t figure out what was up with that.

I started getting this warning on July 18. Any clue of what is happening here:

In the last three hours 100% of the calls to the method GET /comments resulted in errors.

I have made no template that affect the plugin.
