  • kperrone, thank you. I am checking them out.

I don’t have a problem with 10 Posts on your main page. I have been reading your site and, when pressed for time, don’t want to resort to Categories until I need to. If the recent Posts contain what I am looking for at the moment, then I’m cool. Because you use read more . . . the length of 10 Posts works for me.

When I first open your blog I am startled by the thin column, but I get over it quickly. I do, however agree with kperrone in that it needs to be wider. I like the way it scrolls while the BK stays put. The darkness of the BK doesn’t bother me. Make the column a little wider and this will be really nice.

kperrone, would you mind telling me what theme you are using for kperrone
? And, I can see there are widgets that help out, but otherwise is the template heavily modified? I think I have looked at all the available themes and so many are way too dark and busy for my taste.

Sorry ghostboy, but I have to agree with kperrone. Nothing personal but as soon as the page opens (which take some elements too long) I am completely turned off by the look. The inconsistency in light/dark, big stuff/small stuff, the assortment of fonts and font colors,
and the light font in the sidebar just don’t balance very well.

kperrone, your header looks much better! If the sides’ background pattern could be a little closer to the pattern in the header and footer it would be even better. Thanks for the info on the widget.

works for me. I’ve seen your nice site B4 but don’t remember the look of the footer B4 the bullets, but I would say that the bulleted items are easy to separate as different statements. I especially like the little smiley-face in lower left.

Your site works well for me. The dark background helps highlight the content. Your name and the quote is a little lost and might weight better if flush left instead of centered. I specially like the login, Most Viewed, and Who’s Here sections. I also like the way each Post has sectioned off using the borders. I’d like to know where the “Who’s Here” comes from, what widget do you use for this? Good job and thanks for sharing.

I like it! Including the clean theme.
I am looking at as many Blogs as I can for design ideas and seeing what works and what does not, to incorporate into my upcoming work.
Your site is beautiful. As soon as it opens I like it, nice layout, nice fonts. I like the 3 panels. First impression is everything. I won’t bother reading what the blog has to say if it the layout is not well balanced. Your layout promotes the readers desire to read further. Good job!

Isaac, I liked your site when I first reviewed this post a few days ago. I suspect no one comments because they see this as some kinda sales pitch and are turned-off. I appreciate your site and the ideas that I might use with my own blog . . . So thanks for the site. I am wondering if you can explain the mechanics of the “Read More” technique you used so elequently. I see that it goes to a different page, which includes the original content along with the rest. Are you actually creating a ‘page’ to do this or is there some much simpler way to do it. Either way, it works very effectively to keep me reading. When I am not interested in a subject, I don’t “read more” and am not bothered with the entire article taking up space. Very effective !
