Hi I’ll be glad to explain.
Unfortunately there is no option to do so. You can still insert html links on your descriptions to be displayed in the lightbox or in displays that show the description.
I hope this helps.

We changed the free plugin to display the description across all lightbox effects, this way the same info will be displayed.
If you see no info on your images, you probably don’t have descriptions for them.
I hope this helps.
In this case the first thing to check is plugin conflicts.
Please deactivate all your plugins except for nextgen gallery. See if this fixes the issue. If it does reactivate one plugin at a time and check after each to see which one brings the issue back.
Please keep us posted.
Maybe an update to another of your plugins is causing an issue.
Please perform a conflict check:
Deactivate your other plugins and try again. If the editor appears, reactivate your plugins one at a time and check after each to see which one brings the issue back.
Please keep us posted.
Hi, I am glad to help,
I just checked at Imagely and yes, it is behaving the way you described, I escalated to our dev and it teams.
Could you please fill our official bug report form? https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/
Please refer to this forum thread in the appropriate field and mention Jaime referred you.
Thanks.
@williamslyd are you using AJAX pagination? Please check your settings for the galleries and try with the other setting, if you have YES, try with NO and viceversa, please let us know if that fixes the issue.
@cruisefan what is the format of the images? is it JPG, PNG? those are the only 2 formats the plugin supports.
Hi @elegantauraevents !
Given this is a new topic, and an unrelated question to the original topic of this forum thread, I kindly ask that you create a new thread topic through the form on this page: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/nextgen-gallery
Thank you!
Hi @chipmccain
I am glad to help, due to forum rules, we are not allowed to answer questions regarding our paid plugins and options here. You can start a pre-sales ticket here https://www.imagely.com/contact/
I will answer the part regarding the linking of an image in the free plugin though. You cannot link an image itself to an URL, nextgen gallery uses simplelightbox as the default lightbox effect, you can insert html links in the image title which will be visible underneath the image, to let’s say a contact page. That would be the closest.
I hope this helps.
Hi,
You can try using a different wordpress theme to discard a conflict with your current one.
(This seems to me a corner case scenario as any problem with a basic wordpress function is quickly reported by multiple users and we have not had any other report.)
Please keep me posted.
Thanks
I am glad to hear that.
You are welcome.
Hi,
I’ll be glad to help.
First thing to check is your plugin is updated to the latest version.
Then a plugin conflict check is suggested, deactivate all plugins except Nextgen Gallery, then try again, if the issue is gone, start reactivating one plugin at a time and checking after each. When the problem is back, the last activated plugin might be the culprit, keep reactivating and checking the rest, in case there is more than one conflict.
Please keep me posted on how it went.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am glad to help.
You can create an album, which is a collection of galleries, and you can attach each gallery to a page so when clicked, the thumbnail opens the page and not only the gallery.
https://www.imagely.com/docs/albums-vs-galleries/
https://www.imagely.com/docs/add-album/
https://www.imagely.com/docs/link-gallery-album-page/
For linking to an external site, you can add html links inside titles and descriptions, but no link the actual images.
I hope this helps.
Please keep me posted
