Thanks so much Stephen. I needed a direction and you gave it to me. I appreciate the quick response and hopefully this puts me in a position to quickly complete this project since it’s an unpaid project for a non-profit.

    Have a great week.

This was a weird “fix”. I had chosen to use the full size images (as uploaded) and align them to the left, allowing the text to fill around them. In the CSS of my theme, the min-height was set to 100%. By changing the min-height to 25px, the images changed to the actual size that was uploaded by the contributor and all my problems were fixed in Chrome. That was just plain strange.

    Hey Zach.

I’m thinking this has something to do with MadMimi’s API interface. I have the same issue whether we’re using the User Registration or not. However, if I go in to MadMimi and set up a Webform – even though I don’t use it – it seems to work flawlessly. Of course, MadMimi says it should work with/without a webform created in their system so they think it must be your code. I don’t know, but I do know that by setting up a webform that I don’t use it seems to work.

If you have additional questions, please just ask away.

That information can be found here:

But, here’s the information copied from that page:

Can I use postie to check a gmail account?

Yes. You can use either pop3-ssl or imap-ssl with a gmail account. Before attempting to use with postie, make sure that you enable pop or imap in your gmail preferences.

    Pop3 settings:

    • protocol – pop3-ssl
    • server – pop.gmail.com
    • port – 995
    • userid – your username (e.g. if your e-mail address is [email protected], this would be just foo)
    • password – your password

    IMAP settings:

    • protocol – imap-ssl
    • server – imap.gmail.com
    • port – 993
    • userid – your username (e.g. if your e-mail address is [email protected], this would be just foo)
    • password – your password

    Consider this resolved.

Changing the admin name to an actual admin on the website solved the issue. I just got three Nixle alerts to post to the website. Plus an email sent from an email address not listed in the authorized email addresses will be rejected by the plugin just as it should be.

All I needed was a little more explanation of what should be put in the fields – or in my case, just a little more experimenting to find the right combination.

O.K. I changed the selection to “No”, but that didn’t help either.

I was looking at this tonight and noticed the field on the “User” tab for “Admin username”. That had been set to admin, but that is not my admin username in this application. I changed it to an actual admin username in hopes that this will correct the issue.

Is that a possibility? I don’t remember seeing anything in the instructions saying that this had to be an actual admin user on the website. If it has to be, maybe I have this working.

You are absolutely correct – it worked perfectly in Chrome now. I normally work in Firefox and have my cache turned off ALL THE TIME, but I’ve not discovered how to do that in Chrome yet.

    Fantastic job fixing that.

    Goodday @tasko

The “Click Here” link worked perfectly in Chrome. The “Shift+E” method still doesn’t seem to work in Chrome. (v 23.0.1271.95 m)

Both the “Click Here” link AND the “Shift+E” method work perfectly in FireFox (v18.0 Beta)

Hope that helps. I can finish my wpmu.org article now. I’ll let you know when it publishes and you can drop by to comment.
