In reply to: [Plugin Name: Device Theme Switcher] Samsung Galaxy TabHi MaruscaGabriel,
I’ve located the issue which caused this and am working with the author of MobileESP to correct the issue. You can view the pull request here: https://github.com/ahand/mobileesp/pull/2
If the accept my patch or not I’ll include the patched version in the next release of this plugin, which does not yet have an eta.

In reply to: [Plugin Name: Device Theme Switcher] Chrome desktop behaviorHi OlivierBillion,
It looks like both of those themes are responsive. I’m going to guess that your desktop theme is just properly responding to the smaller screen size and using CSS media queries in the theme to make it look nice on mobile.
Are you 100% sure that the <= 1280×1024 size is showing the ‘Handheld Theme’ you’ve set in ‘Appearance > Device Themes’? Or is it displaying your default responsive theme activated in ‘Appearance > Themes’?
Feel free to continue responding to this thread and I’ll help as much as I can, though since this is a theme-realted issue I’m marking it as resolved.

In reply to: [Plugin Name: Device Theme Switcher] List of User Agent StringsHey anefarious1,
We use the MobileESP library for User Agent detection. You can obtain a list of the User Agent strings it checks against here in Excel format.

In reply to: [Plugin Name: Device Theme Switcher] CloudFlareCloudflare most likely will only cache the desktop theme assets (as they’ll never trigger** the handheld/tablet themes to activate)
**Yes, this plugin detects the User Agent string provided by the user’s browser. This is how we determine if the mobile/tablet theme should be displayed.

In reply to: [Plugin Name: Device Theme Switcher] Changingtheme detailsYou’re very welcome! Glad you’re enjoying it.
Anything like theme color changes need to be made to the theme, often to the theme CSS code. A lot of times you can ask the author of the theme how to make a specific change.

In reply to: [Plugin Name: Device Theme Switcher] This Plugin vs. W3 Total CacheHi anefarious1,
I’m not sure at the moment. But I’ll take a look and get back to you!
StonePilot, any chance you could email the page source from Appearance > Device Themes, and a zip file of your theme?
While viewing the page in your browser, right click anywhere on the page and “View Source” and copy/paste alllllll that into an email.
You can send to [email protected]
Thanks!
Thanks for reporting this issue! I’ll take a look asap and get back to you.
