Thanks for reaching out @bunshinon. From checking your site I can see that there may be some blocking controls on it. As Site Kit users Search Console to verify site ownership, a site must be fully accessible in order to be able to verify ownership.
One workaround is to verify their site via DNS?using a domain type property. Otherwise, you can remove any blocks to your site and ensure it’s freely available. After doing so, please attempt to set up Site Kit once more.Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Many thanks for the update @cdurable. Given this occurs for your theme also, I suspect there may be an issue with your language files being downloaded, in particular if your theme did have an update push this week.
It’s also possible that your theme, since WordPress 6.7, which you have active, is using it’s own translation files, as there is a change to how translation files are requested (see this topic). I can’t test this on a commercial theme, but we can perform some additional checks. To do so, please share the following:
- If you switch language to another variation of French (just temporarily), do Site Kit and your theme serve all content in French (Settings > General > Site Language)? Please keep the Performant Translations active while doing so.
- Did you ever face problems with plugins reverting to English previously? I ask as we may need to manually place your WordPress translations via FTP or your website file manager.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
Thanks for checking @taufiqrriza. Is it the same
google_sk_service_connection_fail
error that you encounter while in troubleshooting mode? If so, I suspect something at host level is impacting setup. In the event that this is related to a known IPv6 block, please follow the steps listed here.Let me know how you get on with this check, or ask if you have any questions.
Thanks for the update @labemi, much appreciated. I can see still see some HTML being output. For the next check, we’ll see if this is third party plugin, theme or child theme related. Please follow the steps below in order to do so:
- Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
- Visit your site once more and click on any anchor link, or check for the same error. While checking, you’ll notice that a core theme is in use. This is only for you, as a logged in administrator.
When checking the above, I suspect no HTML will be output with another theme active. Let me know the outcome from your testing, or ask if you have any questions. Thank you.
Thanks for reaching out @labemi. I’d certainly be happy to perform some checks on this. From first inspection I suspect this may be related to one of the optimization configurations applied with another plugin. To determine more on this, please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.?
- Does the same occur if you temporarily deactivate your optimization plugin? I ask as I don’t see any trace of Site Kit active at present, but this may be due to modifications by plugins. The Tag Manager snippet I can see doesn’t match the snippet placed via Site Kit.
Note also that I did perform some checks on your site and I can see Tag Manager references relating to me clicking on a link, your number. This doesn’t seem to be Site Kit specific, but once wehave the above information we can determine more on this. From checking your sites source code, it’s optimized and minified. With that I don’t see any trace of Site Kit being active.
…although I have no idea why this output is actually being sent to the end of the document.
What is happening here?
I suspect it’s not specific to Site Kit and more of a multi plugin conflict. Such unusual behaviors are not uncommon when multiple optimizations are applied on a site (independent of using Site Kit).
Please let me know also if you’re happy for me to close your other support topic regarding this. Thank you!
Just to let you know that the correct identifier for tag manager is
tagmanager
as opposed totag-manager
. Based on this, the last code snippet above should work for your use case. Can you confirm this is working as intended for you? Many thanks for sharing @cdurable, and sorry to hear that the language remains in English. To troubleshoot this further, please share the following:
- Can you confirm that you uninstalled and reinstalled Site Kit? I suspect you already tried this based on the previous query.
- Are there any other plugins or areas of your site that display in English?
While you share the above, I’ll perform some checks on my side.
No problem at all @taufiqrriza. Thanks for sharing. From reviewing your site and your Site Health information, I don’t see any obvious cause for encountering this error. I can see some plugins that could potentially impact setup with a specific configuration, but I can’t confirm these could result in the error you’re facing. I can also see a
htaccess_extra_rules: true
mention, which could impact set up.To troubleshoot further, please follow the steps below, which can help rule out third party plugins impacting set up:
- Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
- Attempt to set up Site Kit once more.
Let me know how you get on with the above, or ask if you have any questions.
Thanks for reaching out @cdurable. In order to ensure Site Kit is translated for you, please first of all share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
- Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin? If not, please go ahead and do so. I say this as your language pack may have downloaded from your last Site Kit update.
- Can you install the Performant Translations plugin and share whether the same occurs?
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
Many thanks for the review @rathore1205. Great to hear that you’re enjoying the plugin.
Thanks for sharing your Site Health status @taufiqrriza. While what you shared is useful, it’s not a full copy of your Site Health information via Tools > Site Health > info > Copy site info to clipboard. You shared a screenshot of your Site Health status tab, not the info tab. Would it be possible to share once more. You can share privately using this form if preferred.
While sharing your Site Health information, please share the additional information requested above:
- When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser?incognito window?does the same occur? This can help indicate a browser or browser extension related block.
- Do you see this message when attempting to set up Site Kit from?this disposable WordPress site?
Let me know if you have any questions on this.
Thanks for reaching out @taufiqrriza.
This message can occur if there is something blocking access to the Site Kit service. This could be at host or browser level. So we can determine more on this, please share the following:
- Your?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.?
- When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser?incognito window?does the same occur? This can help indicate a browser or browser extension related block.
- Do you see this message when attempting to set up Site Kit from?this disposable WordPress site?
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Thanks for sharing the additional info @greendroid. Based on your observations, I went ahead and created a GitHub issue. So we can capture more details and try to figure out what’s happening in your case, please share the following, which I’ll add to that issue:
- A screenshot of the full dashboard as you see it, with the full errors.
- Any browser console errors that appear when checking from a Chrome browser incognito window.
- Do you share an administrator login with other users? I ask as I’m wondering if it’s possible another user logged in and made some changes, such as with the Google account used to connect Site Kit.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
That may very well be the uncompressed size @ratonperezlolita. And thank you for reaching out!
Thanks for reaching out @tatilpanosu. Based on the error you’re reporting, there may be something at server or database level impacting reporting within the Site Kit dashboard. So we can determine more, please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
- Can you confirm the error message that’s displayed if you’re familiar with the language? I tried to translate the content, displaying “….while setting up the database connection“.
Once we have the above, we can provide the most suitable troubleshooting suggestions. This may including attempting to disconnect the Analytics module and connecting once more, or running some checks on another site from the same hosting provider.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
