Got it to embed. I used the standard viewer rather than extended viewer and it worked.

However, all excel properties have been stripped out and no input of data can be made. Is this the way it should work?

I followed these steps suggested by MichaelH for upgrading WP 2.0.5 to 2.8.6 and then upgrading database using the URL https://www.xxx.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php.

However, when I login to the wp-admin page, I got this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in /home/database/public_html/domainname.com/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 39

How could I rectify this error, please.

What I did was to FTP the folders, WP Admin, WP Content and WP Include. These were backed up from my blog at the previous host.

I basically want to get back all my previous posts.
