but it only shows products in the categories rather than the category itself.

Is there a shortcode for this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It should be in:
public_html > wp-cotent > Plugins

I have exactly the same problem, I had to go in via FTP and delete plugin. I am using wordpress 3.5
