Okay. I suppose if I had to move it from Iceland to Oklahoma, that would have value to me. (teasing). Okay, I’ll just be SUPER FREAKING CAREFUL from now on not to dare clicking anywhere on the map in edit mode. Man, it’s a long ingrained habit to be clicking for a number of reasons, but will program it into my head not to do that no matter what. Thanks though. ??

Yeah, I just discovered that in edit mode, if I click AND move the map a bit, then it doesn’t disturb the marker’s placement. If I just click and don’t move the map, then whammo, that moves the marker.

Just out of curiosity, I see absolute value in ability to drag the marker. It’s actually imperative since in one marker map I entered the address in, double checked it twice and it kept being placed in the wrong place. I had to drag it into place (this happened in a couple of cases so geolocation was flat out wrong).

But I see no value in having it jump out of position just by clicking somewhere else on the map. Not only does it beg for unintended moves of markers, but where it moves to is fairly arbitrary. In other words, if I click 3 inches away, the marker moves maybe an inch. Or whatever. Some arbitrary amount.

Could you explain what the value is in moving it that way at all, if dragging it is not only easier, but so perfectly precise? Maybe I’m missing something. Or for all I know it’s an all-or-nothing thing in code or whatever.

Hmmm. I very much appreciate being able to move a marker by dragging it. However I’m not at all thrilled that if I simply click somewhere on the map that it’s going to knock the marker out of its intended place. Is there a way to disable that from happening?

Here’s the thing. I had to disable scroll zoom because too many people who tested my site said that as they scrolled down the page, suddenly the map would scroll (it’s centered in the post so the curser is going to be centered over it if a person is scrolling down the post itself). So if I disable scroll zoom for front end, it also stays disabled in edit screen. There’s just too much of a built in tendency to click. If I simply click, though, then whammo, without my even knowing it, I’m moving my marker. You see how this can be problematical?

Okay, I checked some other layer maps and they seem okay, I’ll keep an eye on them and see if anything like this happens again. Thanks.

Re the Maps update, I just wanted to be sure that your plugin update wasn’t specifically geared to WP 3.9.1 since I’m likely to stay on 3.8.3 for a bit longer.

That would be a unversal all-or-nothing. If I go this route, I only want to remove any time from showing if I click “All Day.” But if I set an actual specific time, then I’d still want that to show. Is that possible?

Hmm. Where would you put this {xyz} {/xyz} entry so it shows up on the side bar of the Event’s Page where an event time normally goes?

Alternate possibility though: Is there a way to simply have no time shown at all on the Events page? Since it’s a preset field entry, it appears the choices are either all day or you have to pick some sort of a time.

Ooops. I had to leave this topic to handle something urgent, and came back to it, following your instruction only by memory. Consequently, instead of your suggested “Snaggy” my memory told me “Snag It” so just signed up for a 15-day free trial for SnagIt which will cost $49 if kept beyond the trial, lol. Nope, I’m not updating to 3.9.x until it has a tad more time, so am keeping plugin updates held off also.
The only two clues I have is that I have 3 categories, Region A, Region B and Region C. I changed them temporarily to subcategories of the word “Events” so it would be Events/Region A, etc. Then re-created stand-alone categories again and re-attached the events to those categories via bulk action. The reason I suspect that is because the word “Events” would have gone in that extra line that separates the word “Categories” from the category name, and that the category name has a bullet in front of it and is intented.
The other clue is that my developer looked in settings and noticed that Locations is set up as a paragraph and Categories is set up as a list. (I don’t understand that part myself, but she said so.)

You’re very welcome Robert. As you know, I really put it through its paces because I need lots of maps, different kinds, different configurations, and maps are my most important plugin. I will see what other plugins you’ve done because you clearly pay attention to detail, and think way ahead. Really good work here, thanks so much for providing this.

It may be, I think my IE is fairly recently updated but I do hear hinky things about IE in eneral. Now I don’t know where I saw the markers, I thought it was on your demo site but just went there and they’re not there. In any event, that’s okay.
