No problem. Keep in mind that bbP 2.1, while stable from my experience, is still in beta and has not been officially released. So make sure and create a backup first just to be on the safe side.
bbP 2.0 has some Genesis fixes built in, which is why in order to avoid conflicting, this plugin only works with 2.1.
Hmm, I’m not sure. I just created a new multisite test setup and everything went without any issues.
Are you using Genesis 1.8 and bbPress 2.1 (beta/nightly)? Do you have both Genesis and a Genesis child theme approved for the site within the multisite setup you are using?
The plugin gracefully fails (aka silently does nothing) if bbPress or Genesis is not preset, so I would say one of those is likely the problem.

You are right about 2.1 – it’s definitely in beta, I should probably point that out in the readme. However, it’s very much stable and will likely be getting released fairly soon!

I was just pointing out to the author that it’s stupid and should be removed ??

In reply to: [Subpages Extended] [Plugin: Subpages Extended] non-standard formattingI don’t think we are talking about the same thing.
This is what I’m talking about https://i41.tinypic.com/nz2ic1.png
I really love this plugin, but there is no need to break the WP style standards to make your widget stand out, it’s bad practice.
FYI this will be released sometime this week. Final patch is done, just running it through some testing.
Marking this as resolved as [login-url] will likely be an addition in the next update ??
Unfortunately that’s outside the scope of this plugin, but a good idea still. I’d suggest someone taking my plugin and extending/forking it to include this type of behavior.
This plugin is geared towards administrators who run small/medium forum and want to be notified when there is a new topic – this way they don’t have to constantly check the forums for new activity. It’s particularly helpful for people who are using bbP as a support forum as they can get emails when new users post a issue.
Alright, I looked at it this morning.
As I suspected, it has to be something with your hosting setup.
Earlier today I setup test.mydomain.com (sub domains) on *two* different hosting environments, both running WP 3.4 trunk, bbP 2.x trunk, and latest version of my plugin.
I was able to receive the notifications on both test setups without any issues. I wish there was more I could do but sadly I think it it has something to do with the host (running qmail probably). I have access to 4 different server environments and I can’t reproduce this bug on any of theme. Additionally the plugin has now been downloaded over a 1,000 times and most people don’t seem to have an issue :\
Unfortunately I don’t really have a good solution. The web hosts/server environments I have access to and test on don’t have this issue.
I don’t see how being on a sub domain would be an issue, but I’ll test it this week just to rule it out!
Looking at the patch!
Does your original link contain the latest patch?
I don’t see anything in that notice/warning log that would be causing it.
It is likely an issue with your host (using QMail) and you can read more about it at https://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15555#p48533 as well as some possible fixes that might work. I would definitely recommend trying option #1 first!
Few things I would try:
– Update bbP (2.0.2) and WordPress (3.3)
– disable all the plugins other than bbp and bbp notifications
– turn on WP_DEBUG (in wp-config) and see if something is conflictingI just tested it on a test setup I have (WP nightly trunk, bbp 2.0.2) which is on HostGator and I got the notification no problem.
I’m not quite sure what to tell you. Are you using the latest version of bbp and WP (3.3)?
I actually use HostGator for some of my own sites and haven’t noticed a problem.
