yeah as Steve mention, you dont need files on your laptop, probably just need to go on yourdomain/wp-admin and there you have your wp intallation. If you want to work on your site locally in your computer them you need a local installation!

Yes when you move to .org is a self hosted product! I would suggest to buy a premium theme and install it in your self hosted wp and cancel your subscription to .com

Have you consider to set up everything on godady? Maybe it will be a short workaround while you test your domains in the VPS IP? I always do testing on domains before upload a WordPress site! even more because godaddy might be tricky sometimes. if you dont have a strong reason to keep working hosthatch I would suggest to try other hosting suppliers as well.

Have you check you .htaccess for any potential redirection issue? if not you can try to add ob_start(); in wp-login.php file after <?php in first line.

update the url of your site on the db, in wp-options table, wp-post and wp-postmeta

just try to reupload the icons or reinstall the plugin, that should work!

are you using any plugin for Menu or is the menu that comes with the theme or is this a custom theme?

have you try to log in with the IP address/wp-admin? if not I think your hosting supplier can help with another login

Try to use the open graph plugin for your site to use the feature image or the image of your preference in your social media, other good option is to use Yoast seo social media section to manage this.
