I agree that 2.5 is the most problematic version of WordPress yet. I love WordPress, but 2.5 has given me more headaches than any previous version. ??

It sure is frustrating that there’s no support – I’d gladly pay a small yearly fee for WordPress in order to get a bit of support.

I don’t think the WordPress upgrade process is “hard” per se, but it’s certainly not “one click easy” – and I think a product as mature as WordPress should be striving toward a “one click” upgrade. Say, an upgrade function inside WordPress that sucks the appropriate files into the site and does an in-place upgrade.

Ah, ok then – the plugin didn’t indicate that there was a new version on the plugin page, so it never occurred me to me to check. No more error now with the new version…

Ok, not so fast…I’m not seeing errors when doing posts, but I had the Google Sitemaps plugin installed and when I tried to generate a sitemap I saw this error:

WordPress database error: [Table ‘jason_wordpress.wp_post2cat’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM wp_posts p LEFT JOIN wp_post2cat pc ON p.ID = pc.post_id LEFT JOIN wp_categories c ON pc.category_id = c.cat_ID WHERE post_status = ‘publish’ GROUP BY cat_ID

That’s a very similar error – what exactly is “post2cat”?

Ok, that worked: I deleted everything I was supposed to, re-uploaded everything, and now it seems to be working – I’m not seeing the error anymore. I guess from now on I’ll do the long-way upgrade. ??

No, I didn’t do the long upgrade, I did the quick upgrade which is the overwrite everything. Should I try the upgrade again and see if that helps?

I’m having the same issue and am scouring the ‘Net for a fix – there seems to be no response from anyone at WordPress, which I find baffling.

I didn’t have the spell check working in 2.1 and now it’s still not working under 2.1.1. I posted a support message in these forums weeks ago, not a single response. What’s killing me about this is that I’m not getting any sort of error, so I don’t even know where to BEGIN to debug the problem. I click on the spell check button and it tells me there are no misspellings – even when I have words such as “dogg” in my post.

I know WordPress is free and all that, but I haven’t seen or heard an official peep on how completely broken spell check is…does anyone care?
