You are right, Handy. I should not have became as irate as I did. My bad for having read similar posts whereupon others were made to feel like idiots. I overreacted, and shouldn’t have done so, but it still stands to reason that when someone comes here frustrated, upset, and sometimes desperate, they shouldn’t be chastised. With that being said, I’m all for steering things towards the positive. Is it not possible to break this forum down into Novice/Intermediate/Advanced, so that those of you who are far more skilled will not be tempted to go off on fledgling members? I understand that it becomes frustrating. I really do, but lumping all questions into one category here is simply going to perpetuate more situations such as this one. Would it be so difficult to do this and assign the moderators accordingly?

Yes, I’m a new member. Yes, I am learning and require patience and ‘tolerance’ as many others who join this forum do..including many of you at one time. When moshu asked for more clarification, I provided him with all that I had, nevermind that it was 10 hours later. There’s this thing called ‘work’ and ‘sleep’ that sometimes comes into play. If you read my responses, you’ll see that I empathized with the moderators here for having to deal with such basic questions on a constant basis. I did contact my host as a matter of fact, but thought I’d try here while waiting for their answer as it is a ‘help forum’ last I checked. My final course of action was not to ‘get all huffy’, and no, it’s not that time of the month. Free or not, I think it’s preposterous to deal with people treating other people like crap, so I did something about it. In looking over his posts to many others, it’s a pattern. My whole point – it’s not feasible for bad behavior based simply upon the fact that someone else doesn’t possess your particular knowledge base or perhaps doesn’t know a lot of the terminology to ask some questions to the moderators liking. Perhaps they should set up a sub forum for newbies with more tolerant moderators who can expect to deal with such nuisances, or perhaps create a mandatory form outlining the problem in a manner they approve of as an initial post. I’m sure one or all of you will shoot that idea down as well though, and imply or flat out tell me that I’m a moron for even entertaining such an idea. It really matters not, and I find it rather amusing that I’m even having to defend my actions here. I’ll reiterate one last time. I don’t care if a service is free or not. There’s this thing called common courtesy, and his ‘help’ was lacking in it, period.

While I appreciate the information, at no time did I encourage you or ask you to install the file. I simply provided you with the link and information I was supplied with, just as you asked me to. This action seemed to be entirely efficient as you were able to assess the situation. As stated earlier, I can imagine that it is taxing having to answer ‘stupid’ questions, but it is your job, correct? No matter what field of employment one is in, they should always keep in mind who their customer is, and should adjust their tone accordingly.

Yes, I imagine it can get more than taxing handling the various questions here, so no offense was taken. I’m not sure what ‘kind’ of database it is, but here is the original email with the link/directions to the download, which will in turn direct you to the original site it came from:

I am happy to let you know that your co-branded software is now ready.

You can download a copy by going to
    1) MB Free Dream Dictionary
    https://www.mysticboard.com/mysticsoftwares/TruthandCrackers/MBFreeDreamDictionary.exe

I request you to download a copy and check that everything is in perfect working order. asking your friend who has not installed this software before on his/her machine would be plus while checking for errors.

    a) You can choose to have people download it directly from your server by downloading and then uploading it on your site.
    b) you can choose to let it stay on our server and just give a download link on your site. there is no worry of bandwidth or downtime.

I hope this information is what you’re needing. Thanks!

First of all, I am new to all of this, so forgive me if my question is remedial. Since I am running a WordPress theme, and sometimes other applications don’t work with it, I naturally sought help here. I’d like to place the database on a page I made, and figured it wouldn’t be considered a plugin or widget, so… that’s it. I’m not really sure why this wouldn’t be a wordpress question now that I think about it. I’m sure you’ll set me straight though.

When I tried to click your link, the following message came up:

    The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Just thought I would let you know! I’m in the same boat you are though. I just put my site up, but I’ve got a minimal amount of content on it thus far. If you’d like to check it out: https://truthandcrackers.com

I’d love some feedback. I will be sure and check yours out as well. ??

I’m afraid it is too daunting. I hate to trouble you, but since you’re offering, I would love some help.
