This is probably a conflict with another plugin or possibly your theme.

If you can get to the EasyRecipe settings page (from the WP Admin menu), try sending submitting a support ticket via the “Support” tab.

If you can’t do that, open a support ticket at:

https://www.easyrecipeplugin.com/support/submit-support-ticket/

This is almost alwasy caused by themes generating invalid microformat markup which trips up Google’s rich snippet generation.

Looking at your site, it shows you’re not using the latest version.

Try updating to the latest version and get back to us if you still have those problems.

You don’t have to turn it off – it’s off by default. You have to explicitly set it up to enable it.

It’s probably a few weeks off, but in the meantime, have a look at https://www.fooderific.com to get an idea of what the plugin will be able to do on your own site.

There are a few reasons why Google isn’t showing rich snippets for your recipes. Quoting Google:

“It may take some time for rich snippets to appear in search results or Place Pages”

“If your site has very few pages, or very few pages with marked-up structured data, it may not be picked up by the rich snippets system.”

“… remember that it takes time for rich snippets to appear in search.”

If after a couple of weeks your search results still aren’t showing up as rich snippets, you can try contacting Google here:

We had one bad update recently (the wrong directory got uploaded to the WordPress repository) but as Emily said, the issues that that created have been resolved in the latest update.

The short answers is no. However you can position the recipe anywhere in the post itself.

But it’s not a bad idea – I’ll add it to the list for a future enhancement.

EasyRecipe stores the information it needs for markup directly in the post’s HTML (there is no separate database table). This means that if you uninstall EasyRecipe, all your existing recipe posts will still be viewable as recipes, just without the nice EasyRecipe formatting.

However we don’t envisage stopping development anytime soon!
